Hünegg Castle<br />
An Ancient Fairytale Castle<br />
The castle was built between 1861 and 1863 in the historicist style and<br />
then largely renovated in 1900 in the art nouveau style. Today the castle<br />
is presented as a well cared for stately home with the original furnishings.<br />
Special exhibition 2010: Hilterfingen and Hünibach – in the good old days!<br />
Open from 9 th May to17 th October 2010, Mon to Sat 2–5 pm and Sundays<br />
11 am–5 pm.<br />

In the medieval castle from the 12 th century is the interesting historical<br />
museum with wonderful views over the city, the lake and the Alps. Opening<br />
times: April to October daily from 10 am–5 pm, November to January<br />
Sundays 1–4 pm, Christmas and New Year weeks daily from 1–4 pm and<br />
February and March daily 1–4 pm.<br />

This picturesque castle with beautiful views of the Alps houses an important<br />
exhibition of Bernese interior decoration from the 16 th to 19 th centuries<br />
Opening Times: 9 th May to 10 th October 2010, Mon 2–5 pm, Tues to Sun<br />
11 am–5 pm. The splendid castle rooms are available for private hire and<br />
group tours are available on request.<br />
Special Temporary Exhibition 2010: Where once the carriages of nobles<br />
stood: the Castle’s outbuildings in transition.<br />

Situated on a rocky spur on the lakeside, Spiez Castle and its early<br />
Romanesque castle church bear witness to the change from a medieval<br />
castle to an impressive patrician residence of the 17 th /18 th Century. The<br />
castle has a café and beautifully kept grounds.<br />
Opening Times: Good Friday to Mid October, Mon 2–5 pm, Tues–Sun<br />
10 am–5 pm, July and August until 6 pm.<br />
Guided tours and hire of the rooms are available on request.<br />
