Symposia (SyMP) include a maximum of five presentations
on the latest developments in fields such as basic science,
clinical cardiology and epidemiology.
Debates (DEB) provide a discussion on controversial issues
with two statements that will be debated, each with a pro
and contra presentation followed by a discussion at the end
of each statement.
How-to & Workshop Sessions (HTS) will give the
opportunity to interact between a limited audience and
experts in various fields of clinical cardiology.
Continuing Medical education (CMe)
The World Congress of Cardiology is
accredited by the European Board for
Accreditation in Cardiology (EBAC) for
18 hours of External CME credits.
Each participant should claim only
those hours of credit that have actually
been spent in the educational activity.
One credit may be claimed for each hour of participation in
WCC scientific sessions.
EBAC works according to the quality standards of the
European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education (EACCME), which is an institution of the European
Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
In compliance with the EBAC guidelines, all speakers
and chair persons who are participating in this scientific
programme have disclosed or indicated potential conflicts of
interest which might case a bias in the presentations.
The Organizers are responsible for ensuring that all potential
conflicts of interest relevant to the congress are declared to
the audience prior to the CME activities.
Clinical Seminars (CS) will highlight various specific
subspecialty topics. The sessions do not target exclusively
specialists but also a general audience.
The South American Congress of Cardiology (SACC)
will be held in conjunction with the World Congress of
Cardiology and presented in a series of eleven sessions in
Spanish. (Session rooms: Amazon, Tigris).
Special Featured Joint Sessions (SP) are held by
cardiology societies and organizations.
The American Medical Association (AMA) has an
agreement of mutual recognition of continuing medical
education (CME) credit with the European Union of Medical
Specialties (UEMS). Under the terms of this agreement,
the AMA will convert CME credit certified by the European
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
(EACCME), the accrediting arm of the UEMS, to AMA PRA
Category 1 Credit.
