Emma and Harry Rutschman were married August 3, 1926 at
Whitewater, Kansas. There were three children born to this union,
Marjorie, Orville and Wayne. Harry passed away October 19,
1985.
Mother and Dad lived on a farm near Hesston, Kansas, for 36
years. Here Mother enjoyed the garden, flowers and the kitchen
with her family.
Mother joined the Garden Mennonite Church at the age of 16
years. Mother gave of her time to the activities of the Ladies
Mission Society, making comforters, quilts, and various items
for the mission fields, and for MCC. She continued as an avid
quilter in her later years, in the community, and when she moved
to Schowalter Villa. She enjoyed school and excelled in spelling
bees, even at Schowalter Villa.
Preceding Emma in death were her parents, four brothers; John,
Albert, Ferd, and Raymond, two sisters; Lizzie Lohrenz and
Bertha Neufeld.
She is survived by a daughter Marjorie Rutschman of Omaha,
Nebraska, sons; Orville Rutschman and wife Naomi of Hesston,
Kansas, Wayne Rutschman of Knob Noster, Missouri, one
daughter-in-law Evlyn Rutschman of Hesston, four
grandchildren; Kent Jantz and wife Sherry, Valancy Rutschrnan,
