Targets
‘Know Before You Go’ campaign was launched in each of the 10 new
EU member states to assist those citizens who are thinking of coming
to Ireland. It provides information in relation to necessary
documentation, accessing employment, accommodation, health
services, employment rights, statutory entitlements, taxation, social
welfare services, etc.
The campaign was supported by DVDs in Polish, Czech, Latvian,
Lithuanian and Slovak languages, and by a range of brochures and
posters (also in Greek, Estonian, Hungarian, Maltese and Slovenian
languages).
A free telephone language interpretation service was also introduced in
all FÁS Employment Services Offices to facilitate full service provision to
all EU citizens, particularly for those with limited or no English language
competence.
