The Council is assisted by a committee<br />
consisting of Permanent Representatives of<br />
<strong>the</strong> Member States. The Permanent Representatives<br />
Committee’s task is to prepare<br />
<strong>the</strong> Council’s work and to carry out any instructions<br />
given to it by <strong>the</strong> Council.<br />
In order to deal with all <strong>the</strong> tasks entrusted<br />
to it, <strong>the</strong> Permanent Representatives Committee<br />
meets in two parts: Part 1 (Deputy<br />
Permanent Representatives) and Part 2<br />
(Ambassadors). Items for examination are<br />
divided between <strong>the</strong> agendas for each part<br />
of <strong>the</strong> Committee.<br />
