knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to the needs of
specific groups of students

identified needs) to capitalise on existing musical knowledge
and skills while also addressing the need for contemporary
approaches to music education in schools
R.4.6 Music conservatories and schools of music enhance or
transform music courses to ensure that performance-based
music courses include aspects of teaching music using
contemporary approaches and meeting the needs of specific
groups of students
