Mr. Young is also on the Board of Directors of semiconductor start-up Akhan Technologies and Unipixel, a NASDAQ listed touch materials firm. Mr. Young has extensive experience in the display, LED, semiconductor and solar industries over a 20year high tech career in mark<strong>et</strong>ing, technology analyst and senior executive roles. Previously, he was SVP, <strong>Display</strong>s, LEDs and Lighting at IMS Research which was acquired by IHS in February of 2011. Prior to joining IMS Research in November 2009, Young co-founded Young Mark<strong>et</strong> Research (YMR) which IMS Research acquired in November 2009. Prior to forming YMR, Young was VP of New Mark<strong>et</strong> Creation at Samsung Electronics' LCD Business. Prior to Samsung, Young was the founder and CEO of <strong>Display</strong>Search, the leading flat panel display mark<strong>et</strong> research, consulting and events firm. Young ran <strong>Display</strong>Search from 1996 to 2007. He sold <strong>Display</strong>Search to The NPD Group in Sept. 2005. He received a Presidential Citation award from SID in 2012, won NPD's prestigious John Byington award for outstanding creativity and innovation in 2006. He was educated at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD), Australia’s University of New South Wales, UCSD’s Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies and Japan’s Tohoku University. Company summary: IMS Research is committed to tracking the evolution of a number of renewable and energy efficiency mark<strong>et</strong>s such as solar, wind, smart grid and LEDs among others. Our LED efforts are focused on the entire LED supply chain from sapphire ingots and MOCVD tools to end products such as LED TVs, LED lamps and LED luminaires. We are tracking LED production capacity, LED yields, LED shipments and shipments of products that use LEDs. For example, we are able to track the number of LEDs each panel supplier consumes each quarter as we are tracking their precise LED configurations at every size, resolution and refresh rate. Our m<strong>et</strong>hodology allows us to precisely compare LED supply and demand taking into account variations in die size and wafer size. Our current product portfolio covers LED equipment, LED supply and manufacturing, LED demand, packaged LED shipments, backlighting, general lighting and LED driver ICs. IMS Research was recently acquired by IHS. Brian Berkeley, President – SID, SVP – Samsung Mobile <strong>Display</strong> Brian H. Berkeley is Vice President, OLED Research at Samsung Mobile <strong>Display</strong>. He received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T., and his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University. He worked at Apple for 20 years developing key products and technologies, starting with the very first Macintosh. He put color onto the Mac platform, led hardware development for the first iMac computer, and was responsible for all display development activity at Apple. He joined Samsung in 2003, where he helped develop advanced technologies for large screen LCD-TV. He transitioned to OLED technology development at SMD in January, 2009, where his work is focused on size and volume scale-up of OLED displays for large screen applications. He is active with the Soci<strong>et</strong>y for Information <strong>Display</strong>, serving as a program committee member since 1991, past General and Technical Chairs of the SID symposium, and is currently President-Elect of the soci<strong>et</strong>y. He has multiple patents and over 50 publications in the field of information display. 5
