Brendler playing piano favorites. Enjoy a special menu from<br />
Old Florida Catering including Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas as<br />
you arrive with fine linens and upscale tableware. The extensive<br />
menu includes: Platters of Whitefish Salad, Tuna Salad and<br />

SPECIAL HOA MEETING<br />
Tuesday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. in <strong>the</strong> Social Hall<br />
<strong>GL</strong> <strong>Homes</strong> has submitted 5 Development Order Amendments,<br />
2 Rezoning Applications and a Conditional Use Application on<br />
February 15th. They are tentatively scheduled to be discussed at<br />
<strong>the</strong> June or July public hearing agenda by <strong>the</strong> Palm Beach County<br />
Board of County Commissioners. All applications are associated<br />
with <strong>the</strong> proposed Charter School which is located on <strong>the</strong> north<br />
side of Boynton Beach Blvd. just west of Lyons Road and a future<br />
Valencia project to be located at <strong>the</strong> end of Acme Dairy Road. The<br />
Amestoy Development Parcel is also removing 149 dwelling units<br />
from <strong>the</strong> previously approved plan from 785 to 636 single family<br />
dwelling units. Canyon Lakes, Canyon Isles and Canyon Springs all<br />
have Development Order Amendments submitted to swap preserve<br />
parcels in order to create <strong>the</strong> new development parcel for “Valencia<br />
Assemblage.” <strong>GL</strong> <strong>Homes</strong> and representatives of <strong>the</strong> Charter School<br />
will explain all applications and answer questions. No reservations<br />
are required.<br />
Showcase Success<br />
Thanks to <strong>the</strong> residents who volunteered as ushers at <strong>the</strong> recent<br />
Entertainment Showcase hosted at Valencia Reserve for William Clare<br />
Entertainment. Over 1400 people enjoyed nine great acts in our Social<br />

to Barbara Kallenberg for hosting our February meeting where we<br />
welcomed local author Fred Lichtenberg who was entertaining as he<br />

who led our March discussion of One Thousand White Women. On April<br />
17 (note date change), Susan Welch will lead a discussion of The Kitchen<br />

club has had a great year, enjoying a variety of selections expertly<br />

3D Art Class<br />
Get in on <strong>the</strong> latest art craze at Valencia Reserve. This art form<br />
doesn’t require natural artistic ability. A three-hour class is being<br />
offered on Fridays at 1 p.m. in <strong>the</strong> Arts and Crafts Room. The cost<br />

This class is offered by ACBL certified instructor Marilyn Kroll on<br />

Beginner/Refresher Canasta<br />
Learn how to play Canasta or come take a refresher from two expert<br />
instructors – Harriette Lion and Rhoda Bagen. The class will be<br />

Room 1. The cost is $65 per person for six classes. Class will begin as<br />

slow rhythms that tone and sculpt <strong>the</strong><br />
body. Classes are held every Friday at 8<br />

Meditation<br />
This class will help you reduce tension<br />
and stress, feel happier, more relaxed<br />

On The Courts<br />
Ladies Clinics – Join us every Wednesday for two ladies<br />
clinics - intermediate players at 4:30 p.m. and beginners at<br />
5:30 p.m. The cost is $10 a person. Even if you have never hit a<br />
ball before or have not played since wooden rackets came out, you<br />
can still get back into tennis.<br />
League Play - The Claymates season will be starting in early<br />
April for both <strong>the</strong> men and women. If you are interested in<br />
participating, see Keith at <strong>the</strong> Pro Shop.<br />
Mixed Round Robin - Join us every Saturday at 8 a.m. on<br />
<strong>the</strong> courts for a tennis mixed round robin. Meet your neighbors<br />
and make new friends while playing this fun game. We are asking<br />
for a $1 donation each week to cover costs.<br />
Men’s Doubles Round Robin – Join us every Wednesday<br />
at 7 p.m. as we invite <strong>the</strong> men to come out and play in a doubles<br />
round robin. It’s a great way to work on your game. Meet at <strong>the</strong><br />

Pizza & Beer Doubles Mixer - Sign up for our Pizza and<br />

Delray Beach ATP Event – Nearly 40 residents attending <strong>the</strong><br />
recent tournament with Tennis Pro Keith Dunlop who was able to<br />
pull some strings and secure <strong>the</strong> only shaded seats in <strong>the</strong> stadium!<br />

time, Morris’s negotiations for <strong>the</strong><br />
endorsement of <strong>the</strong> man in third place, a North Carolina Senator,<br />
hit a snag. A young campaign intern, Molly Stearns, gets Stephen’s<br />
romantic attention. Republicans have a trick up <strong>the</strong>ir sleeves,<br />
Stephen may be too trusting, and Molly has a secret. What’s most<br />

and courage. Dartmoor,1914: To<br />
his wife’s dismay farmer Narracott<br />

than a plough animal, but when his<br />
teenaged son Albert trains <strong>the</strong> horse<br />
and calls him Joey, <strong>the</strong> two becoming<br />
inseparable. When his harvest fails,<br />
<strong>the</strong> farmer has to sell Joey to <strong>the</strong><br />
British cavalry and he is shipped to France where, after a disastrous<br />
offensive he is captured by <strong>the</strong> Germans and changes hands twice<br />
more before he is found, caught in <strong>the</strong> barbed wire in No Man’s<br />
Land four years later and freed. He is returned behind British lines<br />
where Albert, now a private, has been temporarily blinded by gas,<br />
but still recognizes his beloved Joey. However, as <strong>the</strong> Armistice is<br />
declared, Joey is set to be auctioned off. After all <strong>the</strong>y have been<br />
through, will Albert and Joey return home toge<strong>the</strong>r? Rated PG-13.<br />
