8 Blanket Settings - VFROM ● What layer are you using?
9 Blanket Settings - SHRINK ● What is your shrink factor? (Also referred to as Decomp, Stretch, and Draw) – This is the factor that tells the blanket how to adjust the image for growth or shrink around the coating impression cylinder – Typically speaking, you do need a factor of some sort. • The ‘quick and dirty’ method to finding the shrink factor is this: – Make a coating blanket that consists of 1 inch squares in a column on the left, middle and right of the sheet. – Put it on press and print a few sheets. – Measure back to a known point on the sheet, that is almost to the back square – Divide the distance between how far back the square should be by the actual distance. – This is your shrink factor – it typically is less < 1 inch – NOTE – This factor should always be good, unless the pressman change the packing on the unit
