General Information<br />

Online Pre-Registration<br />

Pre-registration on our website www.cirse.<strong>org</strong><br />

will be accepted until August 20 th , 2006. If you<br />

would like to register after August 20 th , please<br />

do so at the registration desk at the Palazzo<br />

dei Congressi (please refer to opening hours<br />

below).<br />

Onsite Registration<br />

The registration desks are located next to the<br />

main entrance in the foyer of the conference<br />

centre.<br />

Onsite Check-in Procedures<br />

Delegates must check in personally at their<br />

respective registration desk at the main<br />

entrance. There will be an express lane for preregistered<br />

delegates who are already in possession<br />

of their badges. Participants who have<br />

not received their badges when leaving their<br />

home country are requested to bring their letter<br />

of confirmation or a copy of the invoice.<br />

Badges<br />

After successful registration and payment,<br />

your personal congress badge and further<br />

information will be sent to the address indicated<br />

on your online registration form (registrations<br />

received and paid by August 10 th ). All<br />

participants registered after August 10 th will<br />

receive their badges at the registration desk.<br />

The personalised badge is your admission card<br />

to the congress. For <strong>org</strong>anisational and security<br />

reasons, badges will have to be worn at the<br />

congress venue at all times. A lanyard will be<br />

given to you with the congress bag. Identity<br />

checks in the congress centre may occur at<br />

any time.<br />

In case of loss, a replacement badge will be<br />

provided for an administrative charge of € 50.<br />

Transportation in Rome<br />

Rome has an extensive integrated public<br />

transport system, which includes buses, an<br />

underground system, trams and a suburban<br />

train network. There are two underground<br />

lines; A and B. Line A runs east to west from<br />

Battistini to Anagnina and stops at many<br />

touristic sites such as the Vatican, Piazza di<br />

Spagna, Piazza Barberini and Piazza del<br />

Popolo.<br />

General Information<br />

Line B runs northeast to southwest from<br />

Rebibbia to Laurentina. It stops at sites such as<br />

the Coliseum, Circus Maximus, St. Paul's<br />

Basilica and Eur Fermi (the stop closest to<br />

Palazzo dei Congressi). Line B connects Rome's<br />

three main railroad stations: Stazione<br />

Tiburtina, Stazione Termini and Stazione<br />

Ostiense. Both lines intersect at Stazione<br />

Termini. The underground runs from 5.30 am<br />

to 11.30 pm from Sunday to Friday and until<br />

00.30 am on Saturday. From midnight until<br />

6 am, there are special night line buses which<br />

cover different areas of the city and run<br />

approximately every 20 minutes.<br />

Please note the following changes due to construction<br />

work on underground Line A: the<br />

service ends at 9 pm. From 9 pm to 11:30 pm<br />

(on Saturdays from 9 pm to 00:30 am) a bus<br />

service operates between the following stops:<br />

- Bus MA1 Battistini to Arco di Travertino<br />

- Bus MA2 Washington to Anagnina<br />

The main radio-taxi network telephone numbers<br />

are: 063570, 0688177, 064994, 066645<br />

and 064157. The operators will provide you<br />

with an identification code that will allow you<br />

to recognise your taxi.<br />

<strong>CIRSE</strong> Shuttle Bus Service<br />

Most of the official <strong>CIRSE</strong> 2006 hotels are conveniently<br />

located in the heart of the city, most<br />

of them being approximately 20 minutes from<br />

the congress centre by taxi. In addition to the<br />

possibility of using the underground, shuttle<br />

bus lines will connect four pick up points near<br />

the hotels to the congress centre in the morning<br />

and evening hours. Furthermore, a shuttle<br />

bus will commute between the congress centre,<br />

the Sheraton and the nearby underground<br />

station throughout the day.<br />
