<strong>CIRSE</strong> Foundation Party<br />

Tuesday, September 12<br />

<strong>CIRSE</strong> is proud to announce that this year's<br />

congress will feature another fund raising<br />

party in aid of the <strong>CIRSE</strong> Foundation.<br />

The backdrop for this year's event will be the<br />

stunning Villa Miani overlooking the city of<br />

Rome all the way to St. Peter's Cathedral. The<br />

exquisite dinner and outstanding entertainment<br />

programme will provide the perfect<br />

opportunity to celebrate the conclusion of our<br />

meeting.<br />

Enjoy a panoramic tour of the Eternal City with<br />

its unique blend of cultural extravagance and<br />

luxury combined with its overindulgent<br />

nature. Together with our local guide you will<br />

have the opportunity to take a pleasant stroll<br />

through the historical centre, where you will<br />

be able to see the Spanish Steps, Trevi<br />

Fountain, Bernini's Palazzo di Montecitorio,<br />

Piazza Navona and the Panthoen, amongst<br />

many other things.<br />

On this tour you will experience the splendour<br />

of the classic Roman Empire.<br />

The guided tour will take you to Capitol<br />

square, the result of Michelangelo's architectonic<br />

genius. From the Town Hall you will<br />

enjoy a unique view of the Forum and the<br />

Palatine Hill as well as of the Colosseum. You<br />

will then walk along the ancient pavement<br />

which crosses the evocative ruins of the<br />

Roman Forum, the Curia and the Reggia. You<br />

will then have the chance to visit the Temple<br />

of Vesta, the Arch of Titus and the Arch of<br />

Constantine.<br />

St. Peter and Vatican Museums<br />

07.30 - 11.30<br />

This tour will take you on a visit to the<br />

Vatican Museums, which are among the<br />

most important museums in the world. After<br />

taking the beautiful Spiral staircase we will<br />

continue through the Gallery of the<br />

Tapestries and the Gallery of the<br />

Geographical Maps before arriving in the<br />

famous Sistine Chapel where you will see<br />

Michelangelo's marvellous frescoes representing<br />

Creation and the Last Judgment.<br />

The tour will then continue with a visit to St.<br />

Peter Basilica, where four hundred statues<br />

await you, from Michelangelo's Pietà created<br />

in 1498 to more recent works representing<br />

the popes of the twentieth century.<br />
