had, in turn, been banned <strong>by</strong> <strong>the</strong> South African government. The<br />

newspaper was itself banned in 1954 after two years. It was<br />

published weekly in Cape Town and <strong>First</strong> was <strong>the</strong> Johannesburg<br />

editor.<br />
