The <strong>Australia</strong> Council for the Arts is the <strong>Australia</strong>n Government’s arts<br />
funding and advisory body. Its role is to support <strong>Australia</strong>’s arts through<br />
funding, strengthening and developing the arts sector.<br />
Each year, the <strong>Australia</strong> Council provides more than $158 million in<br />
funding for arts organisations and individual artists across <strong>Australia</strong>.<br />
In addition to grants the <strong>Australia</strong> Council works with partners to build<br />
new audiences for <strong>Australia</strong>n artists, foster philanthropic support and<br />
deepen understanding of the arts through research.<br />
The <strong>Australia</strong> Council is a key funding partner and supporter of the<br />
SOUNDS AUSTRALIA initiative.<br />
