Jess + Moss
US Cinema
Winner of the 2011 Dallas International Film
Festival and Nashville Film Festival, Jess +
Moss is the story of two cousins during one
summer. The ideas of growing up, abandonment,
sexual awakening and fear of the
future are explored and presented through
a series of beautifully shot vignettes. Every
scene is a moment in time, with the next
moment being related to the last—as if the
viewer is looking deep into Jess and Moss’
minds. As the accompanying bits of taperecorded
conversations stop, rewind or
move ahead, so do these captivating moments
of childhood. The stunning cinematography
by Will Basanta and director Clay
Jeter paints vivid imagery that accents the
bits of conversation between Jess and Moss
which provide subtle, yet important details
to the story.
