from above the mysterious Valley of the Lost Tribe and view the secluded valleys of Honopu, Kalalau and Hanakapi’ai. Enjoy
television’s Fantasy Island was filmed. Your journey into the beautiful and majestic ‘Garden Isle’ unfolds as you listen to a beautifully
choreographed narration on an individual stereo headset.
HEAVEN & EARTH HELICOPTER EXPEDITION NWK-006
Approximate Duration: 6 hours Level 1 / Meal / Flight
See the best of Kaua‘i on this exciting tour that combines exploration by helicopter and by land. It starts with a scenic drive along
Kaua‘i’s coconut coast. The exotic beaches and lush vegetation have appeared in many movies, including Dragon Fly, South Pacific,
Jurassic Park and Blue Hawai‘i. At the helicopter terminal, your air-conditioned A-star jet helicopter and pilot are waiting to take you on
a flight that includes music and narration on the culture, history and myths that go with the spectacular scenery you’ll see. Soar through the
heavens for a bird’s eye view of magnificent waterfalls, majestic canyons and inaccessible beaches. See the 3,400-foot Mt. Namolokama
Waterfalls, Waimea Canyon – the ‘Grand Canyon of the Pacific’, the Na Pali Coast, Hale Lea – Hanalei Valley, even the famous Makana
– Bali Hai, and, weather permitting, Mt. Wai’ale’ale. Once back on land, you will visit North Shore beaches and caves and stop at the
picturesque Kilauea Lighthouse built in 1913. Here, the largest clam-shaped lens ever made, beams over 90 miles out to sea. Stroll along
Hanalei Pier for an unforgettable view of magnificent Hanalei Bay, made famous in the movie, South Pacific. You will enjoy lunch here or
at Anini Beach Park, next to Sly Stallone’s Kaua‘i estate. If you want to see the best of Kaua‘i, this tour is ideal.
Note: Flight time is approximately 30 minutes. All seats in the helicopter are forward facing with large custom windows for optimum viewing. Bring plenty of
film for your camera. This tour runs rain or shine. If the flight portion of the tour is cancelled due to unsafe weather conditions guests will receive a partial
refund and the land portion of the tour will be completed. THIS TOUR IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
JUNGLE MOUNTAIN TREK, WAGON & ZIPLINE ADVENTURE NWK-009
Approximate Duration: 7 hours Level 2 / Meal / Age & Weight Restrictions
Spend the day visiting Kipu Ranch, a fabulous 4,000-acre working cattle operation that ranges from a riverside National Wildlife Refuge
to spectacular volcanic mountaintops. Zipline through the forest canopy high above rivers and waterfalls at speeds of up to 30 mph. Hike
and swim in a deep-water pond at the base of a mountain stream waterfall. Begin with a drive to Kipu Ranch where you will participate
in three different hikes (a total of up to four miles) and between hikes you will be transported from trailhead-to-trailhead by a covered
farm wagon pulled by a four-wheel-drive tractor. Each trek is conducted as a nature walk, through pristine tropical rainforests filled with
plants, birds and aquatic life, both native and introduced. Walk through fern forests and flowering gingers to visit three different jungle
waterfalls, each with it’s own special character. Jump into pools at the base of waterfalls cascading over black lava rock cliffs and swing
on ropes tied to tree branches high above mountain pools. Or you can simply enjoy the quiet beauty. Lunch is served at an amazing
place: a shady ‘Swiss Family Robinson’-style observation deck built into a huge Banyan tree, overlooking the beautiful Kamapua’a Falls.
This is where your optional zipline ride begins. The setting is magnificent: a 1/4 mile foot-trail through the jungle leads to a steep valley
at the confluence of two streams with a 150-foot waterfall tumbling over fern-covered black basalt boulders on one side and a lazy 80foot
wide tropical stream in the other. You’ll be outfitted with mountain climbing harness and helmet, and walk through a labyrinth of
aerial Banyan roots to arrive at the gated take off area. Your guide provides you with a safety briefing, equipment checklist and
attaches a tether from your harness to a two-wheeled trolley that rides on the zip-cable. Soar above ground, over rivers and waterfalls
and through the treetops at a speed of about 35 mph.
Note: Participants must be at least 3 years of age. Zipline riders must be comfortable with heights, at least 10 years of age and weigh between 80 lbs. and
265 lbs. We recommend you wear a swimsuit under clothes and footwear with aggressive tread for muddy conditions. Bring a windbreaker or light jacket,
towel, sunscreen, hat, bug spray, and waterproof camera. The tour is moderately strenuous and appropriate for anyone who enjoys a good walk. Lunch
includes turkey sub sandwiches, pasta salad, brownie, cold juices and spring water.
