style, but oh that morning meal!<br />
Mother's Day week- The Shaker breakfast buffet includes<br />

it's not.<br />
Kentucky is beautiful this time of<br />
year - a few weeks ahead of us in<br />
greenery - it's warmth, blue grass, dogwoods,<br />
redbuds, and stone fences seem<br />
to go on forever. Besides the beauty, the<br />
historic component, and the fabulous<br />
Shaker antique collection, guests experience<br />
actual lodging in this museum.<br />

pecans.<br />
Fill well-greased muffin pans about<br />
half full with batter; bake at 375 degrees<br />
F. for 20 minutes. Makes 1 1/4 dozen<br />
muffins.<br />
BISCUITS _i<br />
1 cup flour<br />
1/2 teaspoon salt<br />
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder<br />
9 tablespoons sweet milk<br />
3 tablespoons shortening<br />
Sift dry ingredients. Cut shortening<br />
into flour. Make a well in the center of the<br />
flour and put milk into the well. Stir until<br />
the dough cleans the bowl - not over 1/2<br />
minute. Knead dough 1/2 minute. Pat it<br />
out on a floured surface to about 1/2-inch<br />
thick or to desired thickness.<br />
Cut with 2-inch biscuit cutter. Bake at<br />
425 degrees F. for 10 minutes or until<br />
golden brown. The cooked biscuits (cooled)<br />
can be stored in a tin or frozen and used<br />
later.<br />
