BlowING aGENTS<br />

Chemical blowing agents are organic or inorganic additives<br />

used in the manufacture of polymeric foams. The outstanding<br />

features of polymeric foams are weight reduction, the<br />

lower amount of polymer which has to be used, resulting<br />

in a more economical use of energy and lower cost, and<br />

improved sound and heat insulation.<br />

BoNdING aGENTS<br />

Bonding Agents are reactive systems that improve the<br />

adhesion and bond strength of flexible PVC coatings on<br />

polyester and polyamide fabrics. Typical fields of application<br />

for our bonding agents are the production of truck<br />

tarpaulins, materials for textile structures such as airdomes<br />

and tent roofs, billboards, conveyor belts, high performance<br />

foils and protective clothing.


PlaSTIcIzERS<br />

Whenever plastics need to have high elasticity and flexibility,<br />

plasticizers provide the answer. But this is not their only<br />

benefit. They also optimize, for example, the processing<br />

properties of polymer materials, which leads to improved<br />

product quality or even new properties. The choice of<br />

plasticizers depends on the demand placed on the finished<br />

product. These can include greater softness, elasticity, flame<br />

retardant properties or resistance to chemicals, weathering<br />

and migration.<br />

ModIfIERS<br />

Modifiers are polymeric additives incorporated into plastics<br />

– frequently PVC – to improve its processability and to obtain<br />

additional valuable product properties such as heat resistance,<br />

impact strength, abrasion resistance, solvent resistance,<br />

Sodium alkane sulfonates are surface­active additives, which<br />
