Welcome to the World of SwissCham
Founded in 1935, the non-profit organization
SwissCham’s role is to make
a private sector contribution to promote
and support Swiss foreign economic relations
in general and Swiss exports
of products or services in particular.
It represents the common interests of
its members in administration, parliament
and other public institutions and
works towards free market access for
Swiss exporters worldwide. Our member
chambers are private organizations,
representing the economic interests of
Switzerland in their respective countries
and helping our export industry to gain
access to new markets, making contacts
with the right partners and foreign authorities.
SwissCham and its members seek a
good and reliable partnership with the
state export promotion agency, which is
obliged to work on a non-competitive basis
with the private initiative. The state export
promotion agency structure is needed
where potential opportunities arise for

SwissCham, the Association of Swiss Foreign Trade
Chambers, has been operating since 1935. This private
sector organization promotes Swiss exports and
a Swiss economic presence abroad through its global
network of member chambers of commerce.

Swiss exporters and private chambers are
not yet active.
Where wellorganized chambers have
established a presence, we invite the state
financed export promotion agency to collaborate,
not to compete, and to finance
state or private company services in a
cost-efficient way, thereby strengthening a
structure already financed by the membership
fees of Swiss export companies. For
some member chambers it is difficult to
fully finance themselves privately. Reasonable
public support could develop their capabilities
to promote our export industry.
SwissCham has 56 member chambers,
which represent the Swiss export industry
in 105 countries. In our chambers – as
well as the association – members do a lot
of voluntary work in the interests of the
Swiss economy. It is therefore in the public
interest that in the future, a fair share
of the state export promotion budget goes
to our members.
At SwissCham, we look forward to
continuing to contribute to Switzerland’s
SwissCham Members
export success. Our members welcome

networking platform as we celebrate 75
years of SwissCham this year.
