• Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization
Act (CHIPRA)
CHIPRA, representing Beacon’s first Health and Human
Services funded project, is an outreach program targeting
children in-need, families and adolescents in the Chicago
area who are without health coverage and seeks to enroll
them, and keep them enrolled in All Kids coverage. This
is a two-year funded project.
• Presentations
Throughout the year, representatives from Beacon were
invited to present to local experts, at conferences and
lead workshops, locally and nationally. Topics were varied
and included homeless children and their complex needs,
best practices for non-public special education programs,
Beacon’s wraparound services, a harm reduction family
model, and working with young families (FACT).

• 12.5% of total population re-integrated to their
home school, exceeding the required 10%
• 13 students graduated from 8th grade

• 16% of total population re-integrated to their home
school, exceeding the required 10% which has been
achieved during the past four years
• 12 students graduated from high school
outpatIEnt sErVICEs
• 82 individual participants received mental health
services in the Outpatient Clinic
• 42 individual participants received services in
Beacon’s Intensive Outpatient Services
HomElEss support sErVICEs
• 780 homeless families received service in
homeless based programs
• 1,668 children received services
• 201 families received assistance in locating/
maintaining permanent housing
• 300 participants exhibited improved skill
development and increased income capacity
• 470 participants showed greater self-determination
in being able to achieve their goals. n
