“firsts” for North Dakota.
• Altru Cancer Center is
the first in the region to offer
TomoTherapy HiArt, the most
advanced radiation cancer
treatment in the region. They were
also the first oncology provider in
the state to provide prostate seed
implants, 3D Conformal Radiation
Therapy and High-Dose Rate
Brachytherapy.
• Altru’s Heart Services
was the first in North Dakota to
implement biventricular pacing
and intravascular radiology, and
was among the fist providers in
the region to offer implantable
cardioverter defibrillators. Since
establishing the region’s first
cardiac catherization laboratory
(cath lab) in 1982, Altru has
expanded to three cath labs with
technology being the first of its kind
in the United States.
• Altru’s Diabetes Center was
the first comprehensive, coordinated
clinic for people with diabetes and
their families in our region. Altru’s
Diabetes Center is dedicated to a
team approach in treating diabetes
and is committed to educating
healthcare providers throughout the
Upper Midwest.

works closely with the University
of North Dakota School of Medicine
and Health Sciences, Mayo Clinic,

richard p. stadter psychiatric Center
Richard P. Stadter Psychiatric Center is a psychiatric
hospital located on the Aurora Medical Park campus. The
62,000 square foot hospital provides extensive evaluation
and intensive psychotherapeutic-oriented treatment
services for children, adolescents, and adults. Patients
seeking the hospital have come from as far as Arizona,
California, and the East Coast. Employing over 100
individuals, The Richard P. Stadter Psychiatric Center,
founded by Thomas Peterson, MD, has provided services
since 2000.
aurora medical park
Aurora Medical Park is an independent multi-specialty
medical facility built in 2006 to serve the people of
Northeastern North Dakota and Northwestern Minnesota.
The 100,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art medical facility
is home to a number of independent practices, from
primary care to specialty care as well as a lab, pharmacy,
imaging center, and physical and occupational therapy
services. The specialty care services offered at Aurora
Medical Park include: Podiatry, Wellness and Cosmetics,
Ophthalmology, Nephrology, Dermatology and Mohs
