Grand Forks and East<br />
Grand Forks offer primary and<br />
secondary education in different<br />
configurations.<br />
In East Grand Forks, four schools<br />
serve the 12 grades, with one school<br />
for grades K–2, another for grades<br />
3–5, a third for grades 6–8, and<br />
a 9–12 high school. Overall, East<br />
Grand Forks Public Schools educate<br />
over 2,000 young people each year.<br />
In Grand Forks, a total of 12<br />
elementary schools serve grades<br />
K–5, while four middle schools serve<br />
grades 6–8 and two high schools<br />
and one alternative high school<br />
serve the 9–12 school population.<br />
Including the Grand Forks Air Force<br />
Base, these schools serve over<br />
7,600 students.<br />
Parochial education is also<br />
available in our community. Sacred<br />
Heart School in East Grand Forks<br />
serves pre-K through 12th grade in<br />
a Catholic setting. In Grand Forks,<br />
two Catholic schools, Holy Family/<br />
St. Mary’s and St. Michaels, provide<br />
education through grade 6. In<br />
addition, Riverside Christian School<br />
in East Grand Forks offers pre-K<br />
through grade 8 education.<br />
Several students from each high<br />
school qualify annually as Merit or<br />
Presidential Scholar candidates,<br />
“We pride ourselves<br />
on the quality and<br />
reach of our schools.”<br />
and Grand Forks students’ ACT scores are higher than both<br />
state and national averages.<br />
The School for the Blind, located in Grand Forks, provides<br />
services for students and adults with visual impairment.<br />
Its mission is to function as a statewide comprehensive<br />
resource and to work cooperatively with related agencies<br />
in providing a full range of services to all people who are<br />
blind or visually impaired, including those with multiple<br />
disabilities.<br />
