Sub : Quiz Program “Anumathak Quiz Championship”
launched at Kakrapar Gujarat Site.
As a part of the silver jubilee year celebration NPC is organizing various programs
for the benefit of surrounding people giving main thrust on education. KAPS has
planned to conduct a General Knowledge Quiz competition in Gujarati language
for the students of High schools located in 8 KM radius around the plant site under
the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. This program will help to
improve general awareness in students and prepare them to face the challenges of
present day competitive world. This year 12 High schools will be participating
in this contest. The estimated budget for conducting this program is approximately
Rs. 2 lacs.
This quiz program is named as “Anumathak Quiz Championship” and is planed
to conduct every year with a rolling shield given to the over all winner (champion
in inter school competition). It is planned to have 8 teams from each school
having 3 students in each team making a total of 288 students participating
this program. KAPS have distributed 8 books (one book per team) related to
general knowledge / current affairs to each school for preparing the students for the
quiz program.
On 10/09/2012 an inaugural function of this quiz contents was held in KAPS
Township. Shri Daxesh Takhar, Vice Chancellor of Veer Narmad South
Gujarat University, Surat was the Chief Guest and Shri R J Patel, Collector-
Tapi District was the Guest of Honour. Shri L K Jain, Site Director, Kakrapar
Gujarat Site presided over the function. Shri Lokeshkumar PD, KAPP-3&4,
Shri M P Hansora Chairman, KAPS CSR committee were the dignitaries on
dais. In his wel come speech, Shri M P Hansora gave details of various CSR
activities being taken up by KAPS. Shri L K Jain in his presidential speech
reaffirmed the KAPS commitment for upliftment of local people in all sphere of

life and thanked all the participants for their participation. Shri R J Patel
appreciated the efforts being put by KAPS in up lifting the life standard of people
of the surrounding area through CSR program. In his impressive speech Shri
Daxesh Thakar encouraged the students and advised them to grab the opportunity
provided by KAPS. Sarpanch of nearby villages and senior officers from KAPS
also attended this inaugural program. Some photographs of this inaugural function

The function was attended by the participating students from all the 12
schools along with their mentor teacher and Principal. A complete
demonstration of the quiz format was given to these students. Students were
encouraged to ask questions / clarifications about the quiz program and were also
involved in the demonstration of quiz so that they get the clear idea about the
whole program. In the meeting with Principals it was decided to conduct the school
level quiz contest during 16 th Oct., 2012 to 30 th Oct., 2012 and the semi final round
of Inter school contest will be held in the first week of Nov., 2012. The date and
venue of Final of inter school championship will be decided and declared later.
Format of Quiz Program
The “Anumathak Quiz Championship” contest will be conducted in two stages viz.
School level and Inter school level.
1. School level contest :
The KAPS Technical team to conduct quiz program will visit each school on pre
decided date and conduct quiz contest in that school. The quiz contest will consist
of 5 rounds consisting of direct question round, audio-visual question round,
optional question round etc. Initially qualifying round for 2 groups of 4 teams each
will be conducted and two teams from each group will qualify for the school level
final. Final will be conducted on the same day amongst the four qualified teams in
a similar manner as that of qualifying round but with relatively harder questions. At
the end of school level final round winner and runner up team members will be
declared and awarded with suitable prizes. All the participants will be given
participation certificate and a memento. The winner Team will represent their
school in the inter school championship. Same pattern will be followed at all the
12 schools.
