The college accepts cash, checks, money orders and credit cards (VISA/MC/Discover). Payment may be made in person or online through WebAdvisor. A student’s registration may be cancelled if payment is not received. Enrollment fees are subject to change by the legislature. FINANCIAL AID Students may apply for financial aid while attending College of the Redwoods. Funds are provided by federal, state and local programs. Students are encouraged to complete a Board of Governors Grant (BOG) fee waiver and/or a Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). FAFSA and BOG fee waiver applications are available at CR campuses and instructional sites and online at www.redwoods.edu/Financial-Aid/. Scholarships and other financial aid may also be available. REFUNDS To be eligible for a refund of fees, a student must drop a course by the end of the second week of the semester. Refund dates vary for short-term courses. Contact Enrollment Services for drop dates for short-term courses. RESIDENCY STATUS Residency status is determined in the admissions process. Appeals by a non-resident student for reclassification as a California resident, including all required documentation, must be filed within the first four weeks of a fall or spring semester, or within the first week of a winter or summer term. VETERANS BENEFITS Students who are eligible for Veterans benefits programs, including National Guard Reserve, Vocational Rehabilitation, the V.E.A.P. program and the Montgomery G.I. Bill, may contact Enrollment Services for more information. ASCR FEE Funds collected via the Associated Students at College of the Redwoods (ASCR) are used to provide recreational, co-curricular, decision-making and development activities on and off campus. Students who pay the voluntary fee are eligible to receive special services and access to events that are supported by the fee. The fee is voluntary and students may opt out during the registration period of each semester. Since the fee is automatically assessed each semester, students must complete an “opt out” form and return the form to Enrollment Services to have the fee removed. To register or for more information contact the CRDN Library. counseling/aDVising It is the Counselor’s/Advisor’s role to assist students to achieve a successful academic career at CR. Counselors/Advisors help students set clear educational goals, track progress and provide assistance when needed. Contact Enrollment Services to make an appointment. DisaBleD stuDent prograMs & serVices Disabled Student Programs and Services (DSPS) offers accommodations and assistance to students with physical, psychological, medical, learning or other disabilities in order to help them succeed in their educational goals. General Educational Development Testing Service *GED is a registered trademark of the American Council on Education and may not be used or reproduced without the express written permission of the American Council on Education. College of the Redwoods, Del Norte is an authorized test center for the GED Test which gives adults an opportunity to earn a high school credential. The test will be given 8:00am-5:00pm on the following dates: February 18 April 14 June 16 The fee for the GED test is $125 (subject to change) and $25 for each retest. Registration is required one week prior to the test. Contact Renay Radniecki at (707) 464-7457 x2364 for more information. student suPPort services ProGrAm The Student Support Services Program (TRIO) is available to students who are currently enrolled at CRDN, are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and meet the following eligibility requirements: be either a first-generation college student, eligible for financial aid, have a documented disability, as well as have academic need. The program’s mission is to increase retention and graduation/transfer rates by providing a wide variety of academic, career and financial aid services.
