student’s registration may be cancelled if payment<br />
is not received. Enrollment fees are subject to<br />
change by <strong>the</strong> legislature.<br />
FINANCIAL AID<br />
Students may apply for financial aid while attending<br />
<strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Redwoods</strong>. Funds are provided by<br />
federal, state and local programs. Students are<br />
encouraged to complete a Board <strong>of</strong> Governors Grant<br />
(BOG) fee waiver and/or a Free Application for<br />
Student Aid (FAFSA).<br />
FAFSA and BOG fee waiver applications are<br />
available at CR campuses and instructional sites<br />
and online at www.redwoods.edu/Financial-Aid/.<br />
Scholarships and o<strong>the</strong>r financial aid may also be<br />
available.<br />
REFUNDS<br />
To be eligible for a refund <strong>of</strong> fees, a student must<br />
drop a course by <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> second week <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
semester. Refund dates vary for short-term courses.<br />

RESIDENCY STATUS<br />
Residency status is determined in <strong>the</strong> admissions<br />
process. Appeals by a non-resident student for<br />
reclassification as a California resident, including<br />
all required documentation, must be filed within<br />
<strong>the</strong> first four weeks <strong>of</strong> a fall or <strong>spring</strong> semester, or<br />
within <strong>the</strong> first week <strong>of</strong> a winter or summer term.<br />

VETERANS BENEFITS<br />
Students who are eligible for Veterans benefits<br />
programs, including National Guard Reserve,<br />
Vocational Rehabilitation, <strong>the</strong> V.E.A.P. program<br />
and <strong>the</strong> Montgomery G.I. Bill, may contact<br />

ASCR FEE<br />
Funds collected via <strong>the</strong> Associated Students at<br />
<strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Redwoods</strong> (ASCR) are used to<br />
provide recreational, co-curricular, decision-making<br />
and development activities on and <strong>of</strong>f campus.<br />
Students who pay <strong>the</strong> voluntary fee are eligible to<br />
receive special services and access to events that<br />
are supported by <strong>the</strong> fee. The fee is voluntary and<br />
students may opt out during <strong>the</strong> registration period<br />
<strong>of</strong> each semester. Since <strong>the</strong> fee is automatically<br />
assessed each semester, students must complete an<br />
“opt out” form and return <strong>the</strong> form to Enrollment<br />
Services to have <strong>the</strong> fee removed. For more<br />

The Ability to Benefit (ATB) is a free test for<br />
students without a high school diploma or GED<br />
certificate who want to qualify for financial aid.<br />

General Educational Development Testing Service<br />

<strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Redwoods</strong>, Del Norte is an authorized<br />
test center for <strong>the</strong> GED Test which gives adults an<br />
opportunity to earn a high school credential. The<br />
test will be given 8:00am-5:00pm on <strong>the</strong> following<br />
dates:<br />

The fee for <strong>the</strong> GED test is $125 (subject to change)<br />
and $25 for each retest. Registration is required<br />

services ProGrAm<br />
The Student Support Services Program (TRIO) is<br />
available to students who are currently enrolled at<br />
CRDN, are U.S. citizens or permanent residents<br />
and meet <strong>the</strong> following eligibility requirements: be<br />
ei<strong>the</strong>r a first-generation college student, eligible for<br />
financial aid, have a documented disability, as well<br />
as have academic need. The program’s mission is<br />
to increase retention and graduation/transfer rates<br />
by providing a wide variety <strong>of</strong> academic, career and<br />

ACADEMIC SUPPORT CENTER & LIBRARY<br />
The CRDN Library holds over 6,000 books and<br />
videos on a wide variety <strong>of</strong> subjects, including<br />
reference and fiction. The library <strong>of</strong>fers student<br />
and public standard/wireless internet access, many<br />
online databases and 12 computers with Micros<strong>of</strong>t<br />
Office 2010. Interlibrary loans for students are<br />
available through <strong>the</strong> CR District. Test proctoring is<br />
also available. Students must have a CR ID card to<br />
access <strong>the</strong>se services. Students can obtain free ID<br />
cards in <strong>the</strong> library.<br />
BOOKSTORE<br />
Textbooks for on-campus courses are sold at <strong>the</strong><br />
campus bookstore for a limited time each semester.<br />
Textbooks can be purchased online at www.<br />
redwoods.edu/eureka/Bookstore/ or over <strong>the</strong> phone<br />
by calling (707) 476-4130. You must know <strong>the</strong><br />

AssociAte in liberAl Arts deGree<br />
The Associate in Liberal Arts is designed for students<br />
who want a broad knowledge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> liberal arts<br />
and sciences. This degree requires <strong>the</strong> successful<br />
completion <strong>of</strong> at least 18 units, which meet <strong>the</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Redwoods</strong> General Education requirements, at<br />
least 18 units in an Area <strong>of</strong> Emphasis and additional<br />
elective college-level courses to reach a minimum <strong>of</strong><br />
60 units.<br />
All courses listed in <strong>the</strong> Areas <strong>of</strong> Emphasis transfer to<br />
<strong>the</strong> CSU System and those in BOLD also transfer to<br />
<strong>the</strong> UC System. Students planning to transfer to <strong>the</strong><br />
CSU System or <strong>the</strong> UC System will need to complete<br />
<strong>the</strong> lower division transfer requirements for that system<br />
as part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Liberal Arts degree.<br />
CR Del Norte campus <strong>of</strong>fers courses for <strong>the</strong> Associate<br />
in Liberal Arts with four Areas <strong>of</strong> Emphasis: Science<br />
Exploration, Fine Arts, Behavioral and Social Science,<br />

designed to provide students with specific careerrelated<br />
knowledge and skills. Completing <strong>the</strong><br />
