Parking may be hard to find on Saturday, so
be prepared to walk several blocks to reach
the race venue.
The professional women take to the streets
at 1:30 p.m. for a 60-minute Criterium on a
1 mile course using the same start/finish line
as the public races. The professional men
will race on the same course in a 90-minute
Criterium beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Recommended viewing locations are the
same as those noted above for the public
races plus the corners of Cajon Street and
Olive Avenue, Olive Avenue and Fourth
Street, and Fourth Street and Vine. One
particularly good viewing location is the
corner of Cajon and Vine because the
riders pass this intersection twice each lap.
Due to the duration of these events, you may
take the opportunity to view the races from
several different locations.
30 to 90 minutes long. The first race will
for the public races.
At 10 a.m. during a short break in the
schedule of races for licensed riders, the
professional women will begin their
99-km Sunset Road Race. This event
begins and ends at the start/finish line
on Citrus Avenue, but most of the race
takes place on a loop course on the hills
in a residential area south of downtown
Redlands. The women’s race will finish
shortly before 1 p.m. and the professional
men will begin their 142-km race on the
same course at 1:30 p.m., finishing at
approximately 5 p.m.
There are many good viewing locations
along the Sunset Loop course. The loop
at Garden Rossmont. Three exciting
corners are viewable from Simonds
Parkway opposite the fire station.
The Feed Zone is located on E. Sunset
