Facts and figures of the pilot project
The smart metering project in Forst is triggered by the local grid operator and
aims at gathering experiences in rolling out the infrastructure as well as
implementing the required IT systems.
Figures:
� Roll-out of ca. 2.000 meters (including all utility sectors)
� About 1.600 voluntary households are participating
� Duration of the project is 2 years (incl. infrastructure set-up as well as
operation phase)
� Implementation of smart meters with an integrated communication interface for
measuring and transferring meter data
The technologies involved are:
� AMIS solution (Automated Metering and Information Systems) of Siemens (ca.
1600 meters)
� Multi Utility Communication (MUC) standard of EMH (ca. 500 meters)
Pilot areas comprise diverse types of construction and architecture:
� Prefabricated multi-storey dwellings
� Detached houses
� Historical buildings
