I have: No time Blow out the cobwebs with a spin around the
Waitemata Harbour on a jet boat. If you’re feeling really brave you can bungy
jump off the Auckland Harbour Bridge or try a controlled base jump off the Sky
Tower. Or enjoy a spot of shopping in the heart of Auckland - explore designer
shops tucked away in and around High Street and visit Elliott Stables’ gourmet
food village for delectable treats. Next, head to Britomart’s vibrant shopping and
entertainment precinct full of eclectic restaurants, funky bars, designer boutiques
and art spaces.
I have: A Bit of time Take the family to Auckland Zoo to see all your
favourite animals and discover New Zealand’s many native plant and wildlife
species. Hop on the tram to the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT)
with its amazing Aviation Display Hall. Explore the depths below at Kelly
Tarlton’s Sea Life Aquarium. Enjoy fish and chips and an ice cream at Mission Bay
beach or relax in one of the popular bars, cafés and restaurants.
I have: PleNty of time If you’re visiting over the weekend, pick
up your own fresh produce and delectable artisan foods at one of the markets
around the city. Visit New Zealand’s largest art collection at the beautifully
redeveloped Auckland Art Gallery. Explore the latest exhibitions and the stories
of Aotearoa at the Auckland Museum. Enjoy dinner up the Sky Tower and watch the
city light up around you, or head to one of the many stylish waterfront restaurants
and bars in the popular Viaduct Harbour and Wynyard Quarter precincts.
