BUSES<br />

The main city terminal is at Britomart Transport<br />

Centre. There are information kiosks inside<br />

the Britomart Transport Centre where you can<br />

get timetables and other information about<br />

public transport.<br />

The City LINK bus runs a loop through <strong>Auckland</strong> CBD<br />

travelling via Queen Street and Wynyard Quarter.<br />

The Inner LINK bus travels in a loop around the<br />

city and stops at many tourist attractions including<br />

Ponsonby Road, Parnell and Newmarket.<br />

The Northern Express is a frequent bus service on<br />

the Northern Busway corridor that connects the City<br />

to the North Shore.<br />

There are NiteRider bus services to <strong>Auckland</strong>’s<br />

suburbs from the CBD on Friday and Saturday nights.<br />

TRAINS<br />

The Britomart Transport Centre is the main rail<br />

terminal. There are three main commuter rail lines:<br />

• The Southern line from Britomart to Papakura<br />

via Newmarket, with a limited number of trains<br />

continuing to Pukekohe.<br />

• The Eastern line from Britomart to Papakura<br />

via the waterfront to Glen Innes with a limited<br />

number of trains continuing to Pukekohe. The line<br />

joins the Southern Line southwards at Westfield.<br />

• The Western line from Britomart to Waitakere via<br />

Newmarket and New Lynn with a limited number<br />

of trains continuing to Helensville.<br />

FERRIES<br />

The Downtown Ferry Terminal is located on Quay<br />

Street, between Princes Wharf and the container<br />

port, directly opposite Britomart Transport Centre.<br />

Ferries depart to a variety of destinations including:<br />

Bayswater, Northcote Point, Devonport, Birkenhead,<br />

Stanley Bay, Waiheke Island, Half Moon Bay, Gulf<br />

Harbour, Pine Harbour and West Harbour.<br />

Ferries also operate to Rangitoto, the bird sanctuary<br />

at Tiritiri Matangi and Great Barrier Island.<br />
