BUSES
The main city terminal is at Britomart Transport
Centre. There are information kiosks inside
the Britomart Transport Centre where you can
get timetables and other information about
public transport.
The City LINK bus runs a loop through Auckland CBD
travelling via Queen Street and Wynyard Quarter.
The Inner LINK bus travels in a loop around the
city and stops at many tourist attractions including
Ponsonby Road, Parnell and Newmarket.
The Northern Express is a frequent bus service on
the Northern Busway corridor that connects the City
to the North Shore.
There are NiteRider bus services to Auckland’s
suburbs from the CBD on Friday and Saturday nights.
TRAINS
The Britomart Transport Centre is the main rail
terminal. There are three main commuter rail lines:
• The Southern line from Britomart to Papakura
via Newmarket, with a limited number of trains
continuing to Pukekohe.
• The Eastern line from Britomart to Papakura
via the waterfront to Glen Innes with a limited
number of trains continuing to Pukekohe. The line
joins the Southern Line southwards at Westfield.
• The Western line from Britomart to Waitakere via
Newmarket and New Lynn with a limited number
of trains continuing to Helensville.
FERRIES
The Downtown Ferry Terminal is located on Quay
Street, between Princes Wharf and the container
port, directly opposite Britomart Transport Centre.
Ferries depart to a variety of destinations including:
Bayswater, Northcote Point, Devonport, Birkenhead,
Stanley Bay, Waiheke Island, Half Moon Bay, Gulf
Harbour, Pine Harbour and West Harbour.
Ferries also operate to Rangitoto, the bird sanctuary
at Tiritiri Matangi and Great Barrier Island.
