Day 1: Arrive Srinagar
Welcome to your ‘Majestic Kashmir’ tour! Arrive into Srinagar
airport. There you will be met and transferred to your houseboat in
Srinagar. In the evening enjoy a romantic ‘Shikara ride’ on the famous
Dal Lake. Overnight stay in the houseboat. (L, D)
Day 2: In Srinagar • Day Excursion to Gulmarg (52 kms / approx.
2 hour drive)
This morning proceed to Gulmarg driving past the willow trees, fast
flowing streams and lush green meadows, Gulmarg - the ‘meadow
of flowers’ is an apt term for this idyllic flower-laden spot, offering a
spectacular view of towering snow capped peaks covered with dense
forests of tall conifers and gigantic pine trees. Stroll leisurely or take
pony rides across the green meadows to one of the world’s highest
Golf Course. A must is a fun-filled ride with compliments of Cox and
Kings in the Gondola Lift upto Level 1. Return to your houseboat in
the evening. Overnight stay in the houseboat. (B, EL, D)
Day 3: In Srinagar
This morning after transferring to your hotel, embark on a city tour
visiting the Shankaracharya Temple situated atop a hill. Return to the
hotel for lunch. Later visit the famous Mughal Gardens - Chasmashahi,
Nishad and Shalimar (closed on Friday). These gardens were where

Mughal emperors once relaxed with their exquisite queens and even
today are popular picnic spots. Also visit the local handicrafts shops
where you can purchase local hand crafted items - shawls, jackets,
bed covers, paper mache, carpets and much more! The rest of the

Day 4: In Srinagar • Day Excursion to Sonmarg (90 kms / approx.
3 hour drive)
Today embark on a full day excursion to the picturesque ‘meadow
of gold’ - Sonmarg. The fast flowing Sindh River makes it popular for
trout and mahseer fishing in summer. You can opt for a pony ride to
one of the glaciers for some fun in the snow and ice. Return to your
hotel in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel. (B, EL, D)
Day 5: On to Pahalgam (87 kms / approx. 3 ½ hour drive)
Today depart for Pahalgam, the ‘valley of shepherds’ which is situated
at the confluence of the streams flowing from the river Lidder and
Sheshnag Lake. En route visit the Awantipura Ruins, an 1100 year old
temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and built by King Awantivarman.
On arrival into Pahalgam, check into your hotel and enjoy the
surrounding beauty. Overnight stay at the hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 6: On to Katra (300 kms / approx. 9 hour drive)
Early morning depart for Katra. On arrival, check into your hotel. The
rest of the evening is free.

Day 7: In Katra • Trek to Mata Vaishnodevi (14 kms one way)
At your preferred time, proceed to Banganga from where you will
trek up to the Mata Vaishnodevi Temple. There are many who
journey here to pay obeisance regardless of their faith, class, caste or
religion, for Mata Vaishnodevi transcends all such barriers. Return to
your hotel after Darshan. Overnight stay at the hotel (B, D)
Day 8: On to Jammu (52 kms / approx. 1½ hour drive) • Return
home with happy memories

This morning proceed on an excursion by local taxi / vehicle to
Chandanwari, an idyllic picnic spot and a gateway for Amarnath Yatra.
Filmgoers will recognize it instantly as it has been a favourite location
in several movies. This excursion is subject to road, weather conditions
and military permission. Return to your hotel for lunch. You are free
for the rest of the evening. Why not stroll along the banks of River
Lidder or shop for Kashmiri handicrafts in the local market.

Goddess Hadimba, the wife of Bhim of Mahabharat. It has a four -
tiered Pagoda shaped roof and the doorway is carved with legendary
figures and symbols. Later drive to Vashist, a small village located on
the left bank of river Beas renowned for its hot springs and temples.
Nearby is the pyramidal stone temple dedicated to Vashist Muni.
