About This Document<br />
Audience<br />
This document explains and shows how to use the SAS interfaces to Apache Hadoop.<br />
These interfaces include SAS/ACCESS to Hadoop, the HADOOP procedure, and the<br />
FILENAME statement for the Hadoop access method.<br />
Information in this document is intended for application programmers and end users<br />
with these skills.<br />
• They are familiar with Hadoop and the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), and<br />
they have knowledge of fundamental Hadoop library and processing using HDFS.<br />
They are also familiar with the basics of Hadoop, Hive, and HiveQL. For details, see<br />

• They know how to use their operating environment.<br />
• They can use basic SAS commands and statements.<br />
