SUMMARY<br />
The Arabic medicine of the centuries passed between Mahoma’s<br />
(623) advent and the reconquest of Granada for the Spanish (1492)<br />
shows a clever long billiard cue of immortal names. Among the most<br />
famous they find the Persian one Abu Bakr Muhannad ibn Zakariyya<br />
‘ to the-Rhazi (865-925 d. C.), better acquaintance as <strong>Rhazes</strong>, author<br />
of the book Kitab to the-Mansuri, that was translated by Gerardo <strong>de</strong><br />
Cremona (1114-1187) with Liber’s ad Almansoren name of medicine<br />
and that he treats in 10 parts of the whole theory and the practice of<br />
the medicine, as it was known then. In the <strong>La</strong>tin text the work turned<br />
into volume of consultation forced during the whole Middle Ages and<br />
still he continued being used at the end of the century XVI. In this<br />
book and in other publications, <strong>Rhazes</strong> repeats the theory hipocráticogalénica<br />
of the humors to explain the disease, and the treatments that<br />
he recommends, are directed the recovery of the balance humoral.<br />
The accomplishments of the Arabic medicine represent one of the<br />
most important and more fruitful manifestations insi<strong>de</strong> this won<strong>de</strong>rful<br />
civilization that he bloomed for seven centuries. In what he continues<br />
we will do a sketch summarized of the topic, emphasizing the historical<br />
- geographical general information on the theatre in which there acted<br />
the scientific - cultural currents and the personage with whom we are<br />
going to <strong>de</strong>al.<br />

<strong>La</strong> conquista fulmínea por parte <strong>de</strong> los beduinos <strong>de</strong>l <strong>de</strong>sierto,<br />
<strong>de</strong> gran parte <strong>de</strong>l mundo conocido en aquella época, constituye uno<br />
<strong>de</strong> los fenómenos más asombrosos <strong>de</strong> la historia universal. Pero<br />
más asombrosa aún es la transformación rapidísima <strong>de</strong> este pueblo<br />
<strong>de</strong> guerreros indómitos en un pueblo que supo crear una <strong>de</strong> las más<br />
interesantes y fructíferas comunida<strong>de</strong>s culturales conocidas en la historia,<br />
con una fuerza <strong>de</strong> absorción excepcional, incluyendo a su organismo<br />
todos los aportes <strong>de</strong> las civilizaciones anteriores y contemporáneas<br />
(la siria, hebrea, bizantina, persa, griega e india), asimilándolas y<br />
