PRE SCREENING OF THE FILM “CAMINO
DE REGRESO”
In September, during the Fiestas del Pulpito in Puertito
de la Cruz, the producer Ventura Films organised
the pre-screening of their most recent production,
called “Camino de Regreso”, directed by Julio Rodríguez
and Marcel Díaz.
The film is a tribute to the Island of Fuerteventura and
especially to habitants of Jandía (Puertito de la Cruz,
Cofete and Morro Jable). It was inspired by anecdotes
and experiences related by the protagonists themselves
that testify of the terrible lacks and difficulties of
life on the peninsula of Jandía during the decade of
the nineteen forties until the nineteen sixties.
This film also has the merit of having selected actors
from a local casting (carried out in the same place
where history took place); amongst those actors the
acting performances of Carlos Arocha and Arleana
Mont’ros were remarkable and really reached the
audience.
In fact, it is a lovely history that talks about itself
with pride and respect for the most important: its
people and customs.
Synopsis
In the 1960’s, in the south of the island of Fuerteventura,
between Puertito de La Cruz and Cofete;
habitants live normal daily lives for those times.
Servando, a fisherman from the village of Puertito, dazzled
by the passion that young Dolores is unleashing
in him, choose the option that will mark his destiny
for the rest of his life.
Nowadays, those same people remember with
longing those times and try to adapt to the changes
of life.
VORAUFFÜHRUNG DES FILMES
“CAMINO DE REGRESO”
Im September organisierte Ventura Films im Rahmen
der „Fiestas del Pulpito“ in Puertito de la Cruz
die Voraufführung ihrer neuesten Produktion, die
“Camino de Regreso” heißt. Die Regie führten Julio
Rodríguez und Marcel Díaz.
Dieser Film ist eine Hommage an die Insel Fuerteventura,
und ganz besonders an die Bewohner von
Jandía (Puertito de la Cruz, Cofete und Morro Jable).
Er wurde von Anekdoten und Erfahrungen inspiriert,
die seine Hauptdarsteller selbst erzählen. Aus diesen
Geschichten geht hervor, wie schwer das Leben in der
Zeit zwischen den 40er und den 60er Jahren des vergangenen
Jahrhunderts auf der Halbinsel Jandía war.
Die Schauspieler wurden bei einem örtlichen Casting
ausgewählt (das genau dort stattfand, wo auch
die Geschichte spielt). Die Arbeit der Schauspieler
Carlos Arocha und Arleana Mont’ros, die den Zuschauern
zu Herzen gegangen sind, muss besonders
gelobt werden.
Es ist eine unterhaltsame Geschichte; die Darsteller
sprechen stolz über sich selbst und haben viel Respekt
vor dem Wichtigsten: Ihre Leute und ihre Bräuche.
Zusammanfassung
In den 60er Jahren des XX. Jahrhunderts erleben
die Menschen im Süden der Insel Fuerteventura,
zwischen Puertito de La Cruz und Cofete alltägliche
Geschichten aus dieser Zeit. Servando, ein Fischer
aus dem Dorf Puertito, verblendet durch die krankhafte
Leidenschaft, die die junge Dolores in ihm entfacht,
trifft eine Wahl, die sein Schicksal für den Rest seines
Lebens kennzeichnen wird.
Heute erinnern sich diese Menschen an die Vergangenheit
und versuchen, sich auf die Veränderungen
einzustellen, die das Leben mit sich bringt.
Las hermanas Ruano llevaron el
gusanillo del windsurf a 35 niños
de Fuerteventura
Las hermanas Daida e Iballa Ruano introdujeron
en la práctica del windsurf a los 35 niños que participaron
en el ‘I Clinic Windsurf Junior – Cajacanarias
100 años Isla de Fuerteventura’, que se celebró el
pasado mes en las instalaciones del Centro Náutico
Insular. La iniciativa ha contó en su organización con
la colaboración del Cabildo de Fuerteventura y la
empresa de las campeonas mundiales, Morenotwins,
y el patrocinio de Cajacanarias.
Primeras clases de windsurf
Daida e Iballa Ruano pusieron todo de su parte
para trasladar su amor por el windsurf a los 35 niños
de Fuerteventura que participaron en el clinic. Tras
una primera charla de introducción en la que Daida
e Iballa explicaron el vocabulario básico del material,
las maniobras elementales, el montaje del equipo o
los estilos del windsurf, los niños pudieron salir al
agua y aprender con los consejos de las campeonas.
Las dos hermanas coincidieron en resaltar la
seguridad de las instalaciones y la competencia del
personal del Centro Náutico Insular, y se ofrecieron
para regresar a Fuerteventura siempre que sean
requeridas para promocionar la práctica del windsurf.

children of Fuerteventura
The sisters Daida and Iballa Ruano introduced
35 children to windsurfing during the “1st clinic
Windsurf junior – Caja Canarias 100 years Island of
Fuerteventura” event that took place last month in
the Island’s Nautical Centre. The initiative included
the collaboration of Fuerteventura’s Cabildo and the
world champion business, Morenotwins and sponsoring
from Cajacanarias.
First windsurfing classes
Daida and Iballa Ruano did all they could to transmit
their love for windsurfing to those 35 children from
Fuerteventura who participated in the “clinic”. After
an initial introduction where Daida and Iballa explained
the basic vocabulary for the material, the basic
moves, and how to assemble the equipment and the
different windsurfing styles, children were able to go
in the water and start learning with the advice from
the champions.
Both sisters insisted on the safety of the facilities
and the ability of the Nautical Centre Staff, and they
offered to come back to Fuerteventura at anytime in
order to promote windsurfing.

Die Schwestern Daida und Iballa Ruano brachten
den 35 Kindern Grundkenntnisse im Windsurfen bei,
welche am ‘I Clinic Windsurf Junior – Cajacanarias
100 Jahre Insel Fuerteventura’ teilnahmen, das im
vergangenen Monat im Wassersportzentrum der
Insel stattfand. Diese Initiative wurde vom Cabildo
von Fuerteventura und von dem Unternehmen der
Weltmeisterinnen, Morenotwins, organisiert und von
Cajacanarias gesponsert.
Erster Windsurfunterricht
Daida und Iballa Ruano taten alles, um ihre Liebe
zum Windsurfen an die 35 Kinder aus Fuerteventura
zu vermitteln, die am Clinic teilgenommen haben.
Nach einer theoretischen Einführung, bei der Daida
Iballa das Grundvokabular, die wichtigsten Manöver,
den Aufbau der Ausrüstung und die verschiedenen
Windsurf-Stile erklärt haben, konnten sich die Kinder
ins Wasser begeben und mit den Ratschlägen der
Meisterinnen lernen.
Die beiden Schwestern lobten die Sicherheit der
Einrichtung und die Kompetenz des Wassersportclubs
der Insel, und boten an, auch in Zukunft dort
das Windsurfen zu fördern.
