“And if Christ has not been raised, then our
preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. And if
Christ has not been raised, your faith is
worthless; you are still in your sins” (1Cor. 15:
14, 17).
The Easter Season which was began with the
last Sunday of March the Mother Church was
singing: “Christ the Lord is Risen! Alleluia! Risen
indeed! Alleluia! Alleluia! The communities of
the Delegation went on living the Easter
experience with their daily pastoral and
formation activities.
Mahanje
The brothers of the community of Mahanje
went on with their formation and pastoral
activities as usually in the outstations of
Mahanje, Madaba, Kifaguro, Mkongotema,
Rutukila and Ndelenyuma. Also the community
has been working in the farm of Madaba
whereby a farm house is being constructed with
the aim of providing facility for the exploitation
of the land.
Retirement of Archbishop Nobert
Mtega
The Archbishop Norbert
Wendelini Mtega has been
a close friend of the
Augustinians in Tanzania. A
good number of the
Augustinian priests were
ordained by him. It was on
May 15 th 2013 after Midday
prayers at the presence of
monks and priests of the
Archdiocese of Songea
when the surprising
announcement of the
retirement of the
Archbishop Norbert
Wendelini Mtega came.
The breaking news was
announced at the
Benedictine Abbey of Hanga
where the priests of
archdiocese had gathered there for their special
seminar in celebrating this year of faith. The
Holy Father, Pope Francis, appointed Bishop
Tarcisius Ngalalekumtwa the current ordinary of
the Diocese of Iringa as the Apostolic
Administrator of Songea, during this time of
Episcopal vacancy or as Vatican calls this period
as “Sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae
Sedis.”
St. Augustine-Morogoro
The formation community of Morogoro had its
ordinary routine: assisting classes in the
University College, participating in the different
community activities in the garden and in the
farm. The Easter preparations were concluded
by a recollection given to all the students
insisting on the importance of faith as a
guiding principle in all aspects of a Christian
life. Easter was celebrated with all solemnity in
the two outstations and also by the community.
Easter break was very brief and in fact the
classes resumed immediately on Easter Monday.
May 01, 2013 was the Labour Day and on the
same day there was an installation of the
seminarians to different ministries. Br. Festo
Ndiu was installed a lector by His Excellency
El Prior Provincial y el Ecónomo Provincial con los seminaristas de Morogoro
