Edacochin
The life of the House of Edacochin was a bit
monotonous and quiet in April and May as the
Summer Vacation of the Aspirants of St.
Augustine’s Minor Seminary is being stretched up
to the 31 st of May. The Aspirants headed for home
during the last week of the month of March, a
few days before the Great Paschal Week
Celebrations. The Seminary looked really out of
sorts as it had missed the usual activities and
programs of the Formation. The Aspirants, on the
other hand, made use of their longest Vacation
being with their family and loved ones and
helping their home Parish as per the needs and
requests of their Parish Priest. Some of the
Aspirants had offered their helping hand in
preparing the children for the reception of the
Sacrament of the First Holy Communion of their
Home Parish. Meanwhile three Aspirants, after
completing their four years of Minor Seminary
Formation, joined the House of Aluva in May
where they will begin their philosophy studies.
The Most important thing that happened in the
Delegation of Our Lady of Grace, India was
nothing but the Priestly Ordination of our Dn.
Binu Yesudasan. Rev. Deacon, who had been
diligently administering the duties entrusted to
him for the last six months, got ordained to
priesthood on the 8 th of June. The whole
Ceremony was attended by nearly thousand
people that included his family, relatives, friends
and dear ones. The Augustinian Family wishes him
all the best and blessings to
Rev. Fr. Binu. As June is the
beginning of the new
academic year in Kerala,
India, New seven aspirants
were joined in the minor
seminary in the second week
of June.

Aluva
In the beginning of the month of April, brothers
who had finished the exams went for holydays
but three of our brothers who are studying at Don
Bosco collage were staying here for their exams.
In order to have real spiritual nourishment our
fathers, gave themselves available for the annual
retreat which took place in a Carmelite
monastery at Munnar. In fact, the retreat could
elaborate a spiritual boom for all our fathers. Fr.
Varghese Karapperil guided the annual retreat,
stressing mainly on the necessity of deviating our
religious commitment into the social fields. On
April 24 to 27 Delegation had arranged an
illuminating Augustinian spirituality course for
three days which was very much enriched with
the esteemed presence of our fathers and nuns
from different Augustinian communities. The
classes were given by our fathers – Fr. Xavier
Kattikatt on psychology and the confession of St.
Augustine, Fr. Sumesh Joseph on spirituality of
Augustinian religious life, Fr. Jojo Neyserry on
personalities that influenced St. Augustine, Fr.
Jacob Mullassery on theology of Augustinian
religious life and Fr. Anson Kalathiparambil on
interiority. Our fathers gave an excellent
presentation on their themes which was well
appreciated by the participants. The Augustinian
spirituality course was begun with a
concelebrated holy mass presided over by Rev.Fr.
St. Antony’s Shrine, which is
being taken care by the
Community of Edacochin,
had celebrated the Feast of
St. Antony on 13 th June,
during which almost five
thousands of devotees of St.
Antony took part in the
Spiritual banquet which was
