Los típicos fondos fangosos continentales no son corrientes en Canarias.<br />

De hecho, a partir del infralitoral, se encuentran algunos fondos arenososfangosos<br />

(más arenosos que fangosos) que difieren de los que pueden<br />

encontrarse en otras zonas de Europa e, incluso, África. Estos fondos de<br />

sedimentos finos pueden tener una mayor parte terrígena o biogénica que<br />

debe ser tenido en cuenta.<br />
