Patricio Tisalema formó parte de los aliados
del PMA durante 2011. Este montañista
ecuatoriano tiene el ambicioso proyecto de
subir al Everest sin oxígeno. Durante su viaje
de preparación a Nepal, llevó un mensaje de
amistad de Quito a la oficina del PMA en
Katmandú, donde conoció sobre el programa
del PMA en Nepal para llegar a las niñas y niños
malnutridos y fortalacer los medios de vida en
ambientes de altura. Quienes trabajan por la
seguridad alimentaria y nutricional en ambos
países, constataron que aún en latitudes
diferentes y hablando idiomas distintos, los
retos y esperanzas son muy similares.

Patricio Tisalema was a WFP ally during 2011.
In 2012, the Ecuadorian mountaineer will
tackle the ambitious goal of summiting Mt.
Everest without oxygen. During his preparatory
trip to Nepal, Patricio carried a friendly
message from Quito to the WFP office in
Katmandu. Patricio learned about WFP’s Nepal
programme and how it reaches malnourished
children and strengthens livelihoods in high
altitude environments. Staff working in food
and nutrition security in both countries confirmed
that even at different latitudes and
speaking different languages, they share
similar challenges and hopes.
