La central hidroeléctrica Guajoyo, situada en<br />
Metapán, Santa Ana, fue construida para abastecer<br />
la zona occidental del país. Su caudal medio anual<br />
es de 26.3m³ por segundo y su generación media<br />
anual es de 64.2 GWh. Contribuye a mantener el<br />
nivel del agua del lago de Güija, especialmente<br />
en la época seca, y así beneficiar a las poblaciones<br />
aledañas.<br />
The hydroelectric plant of Guajoyo is located in<br />
Metapán, Santa Ana. It was built to supply the<br />
western side of the country. Its medium yearly<br />
flow is of 26.3m³ per second, and average annual<br />
generation is 64.2 GWh. lt helps keeping the level<br />
of water of Guija´s Lake, specially in dry season, in<br />
order to benefit the nearby towns.<br />
