5.4.3 Special Measuring Systems
In addition to the standard measurement systems according to DIN 53018 and DIN 53019 (cylinder measuring
systems, cone/plate and plate/plate measuring systems P1 to P4) also special measuring systems can be
used. Special measuring tasks can be realized by those measuring systems, e.g. viscosity measurement of
strongly sedimenting suspensions. The main intention of using special measuring systems is to get
reproducible results. With special measuring systems, torque, speed, characteristics or relative viscosities can
be measured. The exact calculation of shear stress and shear rate and its distribution is not possible.
