9. Place the sample centric on the basic plate. Application of the sample depends on kind of different
substances by dropping or covering at the center of the basic plate (7).
Note: The gap must be completely filled.
10. Trim the sample. The sample can be trimmed with a spatula or a trimming tool (available on request) -
the excess material to be measured will be removed. The trimming tool is used, as shown on the
Figure 16.

11. Lay the stripper gripper flat on the basic plate. The inward facing ends are applied to the measuring
plate. By simultaneously pressing the brackets and pulling forward the tool, the excess material is
removed.
12. To ensure all-sided trimming of the sample, the opening of the adapter can be rotated forward (see
Figure 15). After trimming, the window is to turn back again to make ready for measurement. After
trimming, the opening has to be turned back again to make ready for measurement.
13. After clicking OK, the program asks you to set the distance between the plates (e.g. 1,00 mm) and will
display:
14. After clicking OK the measurement starts. The progress of the measurement can be seen in the
information window. When the measured data came (see Information window), they can be also
displayed in the Chart and in the Table. The measured values can be viewed and / or evaluated in the
Report.
15. After the measurement is completed, loosen the knurled screw (2), simultaneously lift the quick
connecting coupling (3) and move the measuring drive upwards. Clean the measuring and basic
plates.
16. Subsequently, new sample is applied and after the plate was hitched again, a new measurement can
be started.
