DeviceMed France backs the Implants 2012
Innovation Award
Dear Sir/Madam,
Ever since we first launched our magazine back in November 2008, we
have continually strived to promote events that showcase medical
devices, and notably international congresses and trade shows that are
held in France.
One of my personal highlights on the annual calendar is the IMPLANTS
trade show in Lyon. There are two reasons for this: firstly, I appreciate
the warm welcome that is extended to all those present and the friendly
atmosphere that prevails amidst the stands. Secondly, and most importantly,
I find that the trade show offers a veritable treasure trove of information
about developments in the orthopaedic sector. Every single year,
the event opens my eyes to the permanent effervescence of this market
which, let’s not forget, has doubled in size on an international scale since
2004 and currently represents somewhere in the region of 30 billion
euros according to Avicenne’s latest research.
This year, for the first time ever since the event was launched 8 years
ago, IMPLANTS is organising an Innovation Award, a highly original
initiative and one we are wholeheartedly backing. The award will honour
the most innovative European outsourcing providers and their partners,
giving them the opportunity to present their latest developments to
leading orthopaedic specialists. Open to all outsourcing providers, irrespective
of whether or not they are exhibiting at the show, the award
covers all fields of activity, from materials to manufacturing processes
and coatings. The winning entries will be chosen by a five-strong jury of
specialists, three of whom work for the leading orthopaedic firms.
It will be a huge honour for our magazine to present the trophy to the
winners of the Innovation Award 2012, thereby saluting the dynamism
and talent they have invested in serving the patients of tomorrow.

l’Innovation d’Implants 2012
Madame, Monsieur,
Depuis le lancement de notre magazine en novembre 2008, nous nous
sommes attachés à promouvoir les événements dédiés au dispositif
médical, en particulier les congrès et salons internationaux organisés
en France.
Pour ma part, j’éprouve un vif intérêt à visiter chaque année IMPLANTS
à Lyon, et ce pour deux raisons : l’accueil chaleureux réservé aux participants
et l’ambiance familière qui règne dans les allées, mais aussi et
surtout le concentré d’informations auquel j’ai accès concernant les
évolutions du secteur orthopédique. J’observe à chaque nouvelle édition
le bouillonnement permanent de ce marché qui, rappelons-le, a doublé
à l’échelle internationale depuis 2004 pour avoisiner les 30 milliards
d’euros, comme nous l’indiquent les dernières études de la société
Avicenne.
Pour la première fois depuis sa création il y a 8 ans, Implants organise
un Trophée de l’Innovation, une initiative originale à laquelle nous apportons
pleinement notre soutien. Ce trophée récompensera les sous-traitants
et leurs partenaires les plus innovants au niveau européen. Il leur
donnera ainsi l’occasion de présenter leurs nouveaux développements
aux plus grands spécialistes orthopédiques. Ouvert à tous les sous-traitants,
exposant sur le salon ou non, il englobe tous les domaines d’activité,
des matériaux aux process de fabrication, en passant par les revêtements.
La sélection des candidatures est réalisée par un jury composé
de cinq spécialistes, dont trois représentants de sociétés orthopédiques
leaders sur le marché mondial.
Ce sera un immense honneur pour notre magazine que de remettre leur
récompense aux lauréats du Trophée de l’Innovation 2012 et de saluer
ainsi leur dynamisme et leur talent, au service des patients de demain.
