4) Replace the soldering tip (e. g. by soldering tips of
the MONACOR series SIT-5..) and fix the screw
sleeve by turning it with the fingers. In order not to
damage the heating element, the screw sleeve
must not be tightened too much.
5 Notes for Correct Soldering
1) Prior to the operation check the soldering tip for
tight position.
2) Always keep the soldering tip clean and – especially
prior to switching off the soldering station – provide
it with sufficient soldering tin.
3) Prior to soldering clean the parts to be soldered.
4) To protect the soldering station and the soldering
tip, the unit should not be operated at temperatures
of 400°C and more for a longer period of time.
6 Cleaning of the Soldering Station
Prior to cleaning the soldering station must be
switched off and disconnected from the mains! The
housing of the soldering station and the handle of the
soldering iron may be cleaned with a slightly wet cloth
and a small quantity of liquid detergent. Sharp detergents
or chemicals must not be used. While cleaning
ensure that no liquid enters into the unit!
