Hiking Born to be Wild

En 2004, j’ai eu besoin d’un nouveau soue. J’ai abandonné la presse pour me consacrer à la pub, au
catalogue. Il a fallu apprendre à travailler autrement, lentement, à être précis, à écouter un brief et à le
retranscrire. Cet exercice me plaît, car chaque approche est unique et sans acquis. Ce qui veut dire une
évolution permanente.
J’ai commencé avec un Canon A1, puis je suis passé par tous les appareils Canon et toutes les optiques du 14
au 600mm. J’ai adoré l’arrivée du digital, de Photoshop, et depuis plus de 2 ans, l’arrivée de la vidéo avec ce
même matériel photographique. Je n’ai aucune nostalgie de l’argentique. La diérence avec « avant », c’est de
penser ses photos non plus seulement avec un appareil et un objectif, mais aussi avec un logiciel de retouche.
In 2004 I needed a change of scene. I le the press to concentrate on advertising and catalogues. I needed to
alter my working methods, slow the pace down, be precise and listen to a brief and follow it. I enjoy this way
of working because each brief is unique and starts from scratch. is enables constant evolution.
My rst camera was a Canon A1 aerwards I went through all the Canons and lenses from a 14mm to a
600mm. I loved the new dawn of digital photography and Photoshop and now for more than 2 years using
the same equipment to make videos. I am not at all nostalgic towards traditional lm photography. e
dierence between “before” and now is that you don’t just think about taking photos with a camera and lens
but also using computer-retouching soware.
