En 1973, S.T.Dupont crée une révolution en lanç ant le premier stylo bille de luxe :

lancé Olympio pour l e plaisir d’écrire. En 2008, S.T .Dupont innove encore avec

150 opérations.
La plume, en ell e-même, es t l ’objet d’une att ention e xtrême, à chacune des
multiples étapes de travail : le laminage de la f euille d’or massif, le découpage des
flans, la mise en f orme, la soudure de la point e, la fente, le polissage manuel et la
décoration au rhodium.
Une fois assemblée, la plume est évaluée par une des rares mains expertes,
capables d’apprécier les infimes variations qui différencient une plume parf aite
d’une bonne plume, opérant les ajustements nécessaires à la perfection requise.

THE REFLECTION OF AN ART – THE ART OF WRITING
In 1973, S.T.Dupont started a r evolution by launching the fir st luxury ball point
pen: a functional, technical object, but also an intimately personal one. In 1996 it
introduced the Olympio for the pleasure of writing. In 2008 S.T.Dupont was once
again at the f orefront of inno vation with the Néo-Clas sique Président, the fir st
luxury writing instrument to incorporate a powerful USB key. And, in 2009, S.T.Dupont
launched its new writing tool: the laser precision Défi.
Each of S.T .Dupont’s writing ins truments is char acterised by the el egance of its
lines, the superiority of its materials and its perfect and reassuring weight.
Fashioned from metal to give it superior strength, an S.T.Dupont pen takes shape in
the hands of our master craftsmen over the course of 150 separate processes.
The nib itself is subject t o meticulous attention at each of the many s tages in its
production: the rolling of the solid gold l eaf, the cutting of the blanks, the shaping,
soldering of the point, the cutting of the slit in the nib, manual polishing and
decorating with rhodium.
Once assembled, the nib is assessed by one of the rare expert hands that is capable
of appreciating the infinit e variations that set a perf ect nib apart fr om a good nib,
and carrying out the adjustments necessary to achieve the required perfection.
An S.T.Dupont writing instrument is also recognisable by a multitude of other details:
• the clean and reassuring sound of the cap clicking securely onto the pen, combined
with its ease of mo vement, which echoes the clas sic “cling” of a light er as it is
flicked open.
• the articulated clip, with its unique design, which protects shirt and jacket pockets
and is resistant to upwards of 70,000 manipulations.

and patented ball point/lead mechanism which enables the user to transform his
