ThE BoAT DRESS
Avec ses œuvres, Jacqueline Bradley comble
le fossé entre la réalisation artistique et
l’environnement. En l’occurrence l’eau,
la mer. Cette robe-bateau gonflable en
coton, métal et bois allie avec une pointe
d’humour le vêtement et le transport, le
tout sur un mode décalé. L’artiste met en
scène cette tenue à travers une performance
dans laquelle elle apparaît elle-même vêtue
de ce gilet de sauvetage unique en son
genre, délicieusement futile.

ThE BoAT DRESS
In her works, Jacqueline Bradley bridges the
gap between artistic production and the
environment. For her, this means water, the
sea. With a touch of humour, this curiouslooking
inflatable boat dress made of
cotton, metal and wood doubles as clothing
and a means of transport. The artist stages
this outfit through a performance in which
she herself appears wearing this unique,
delightfully frivolous lifejacket.

Ginna Lee cherche à retranscrire dans ses
créations le rapport entre le vêtement et
l’émotion, le mouvement, de la personne
qui le porte. La robe est ici réalisée dans
une matière épaisse qui conserve de façon
éphémère la trace des pressions qu’on y
exerce. Lorsqu’on se touche le bras par
exemple, les doigts imprègnent un temps
leur marque sur la manche. Une empreinte
qui nous raconte…

In her designs, Ginna Lee seeks to transcribe
the relationship between clothing and the
emotion and movement of the wearer. Here,
the dress is made of a thick material that for
a short while retains traces of the pressure
exerted on it. When one touches the arm for
example, the impression left by the fingers
can be seen on the sleeve for a time. An
imprint that tells a story...
