For best results, please readand perform all instructions listedhere. Also, keep this guide forfuture reference.INSTALLING BATTERIES1. Pull back the remote control’s batterycover and remove it.2. Insert the two (2) supplied AA batteriesaccording to the + and - marks inthe battery case.3. Push the battery cover back into place.4. Test the unit by pressing the powerkey.If batteries are inserted correctly, theRed Light will blink.NOTE: When batteries need replacement, theremote control will stop operating. Replace the oldbatteries with new AA batteries.PROGRAMMING SAT CONTROLYour remote control address is set at thefactory to 000 to control all of the functionson your Motorola satellite receiver. However,if you have more than one satellite receiver,you may want to prevent the remote controlin one room from affecting the satellitereceiver in another room. To prevent thiskind of interference, you must “pair” eachremote control with each receiver by assigninga new “address” to each combination.This “address” assignment is made using yourremote control as follows:1. Press the SAT button to select theremote control's SAT mode.2. Press the OPTIONS button to displaythe Options screen on your TV.3. On the Options Menu use the arrowbuttons and press ENTER/OK to open the following menus. Youcan also press the indicated numberon the remote control to access eachmenu directly.6 System Setup (select models only)4 System Settings3 Installation Settings2 Remote Control Address.4. Once you are on the "Remote ControlAddress screen" program the remotecontrol using the remote control keypadprogramming sequence.5. Press and hold the remote controls SATmode key until the red lights flash atleast twice and release the SAT key.6. Enter a new 3 Digit SAT address fromthe below list using the number keysthe remote control.7. Press ENTER/OK to save the newaddress and pair the remote with yoursatellite receiver.8. Press EXIT to leave the Options menu.PROGRAMMING DEVICE CONTROLThe Shaw Direct IRC600 and URC600 RemoteControls are preprogrammed to operate aMotorola satellite receiver, a Sony TV, andSony DVD player. To program devices otherthan the default brands, perform the followingsteps; otherwise skip this section.1. Turn on the TV or Auxiliary device.NOTE: Please read steps 2 to 4 completelybefore proceeding. Highlight or writedown the codes and device you wish toprogram before moving on to step 2.2. Press and hold Device key (TV or AUX)until the Red Lights flash at least twice,then release TV or AUX.3. Locate the code for your device inManufacturer’s Codes on the back ofthis user guide. Brands are listed inalphabetical order with the most popularcodes listed first.4. Enter the first five-digit code for yourTV or Auxiliary Device. If you performthis procedure correctly, the Red Lightwill blink twice.NOTE: If you enter an invalid code, thered light will not blink when enteringthe last digit and exit the programmingmode. Repeat steps 2 to 4 with a validcode.5. Aim the remote control at your TV orAuxiliary Device and press Power once.The device should turn off. If it doesnot respond, repeat steps 2 to 4, tryingeach code listed for your brand untilyou find one that works. If it still does notwork, try Searching For Your Code.6. The TV or Auxiliary Device code will bestored in the remote control and willbe automatically reprogrammed whenthe batteries are changed.TV Code:AUX Code:PROGRAMMING CHANNELCONTROL LOCKBy default, the remote control’s channelcontrolcapabilities are locked to the satellitereceiver. The affected keys are 0 through 9,CH+, CH- and LAST. This guarantees that youdo not inadvertently change a channel onyour TV. However, you can de-activate thisfeature to allow full access to these keys inthe TV mode.Unlocking Channel Control1. On the remote control, press and holdSAT until it blinks twice.2. Enter 9-7-3. The SAT key blinks twice.3. Press CH – once. The SAT key blinksfour times.Locking Channel Control to SAT1. On the remote control, press and holdSAT until it blinks twice.2. Enter 9-7-3. The SAT key blinks twice.3. Press CH+ one. The SAT key blinkstwice.SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODEIf your brand of Device does not respondto the remote control after trying all of thecodes listed, or if your brand is not listed at all,try searching for your code.1=TV, 2=DVD/VCR, 3=AUDIO1. Turn on your Device.2. Press and hold Device key (TV or AUX)until the Red Lights flash at least twice,then release TV or AUX.3. Enter in 9 - 9 - 1. The Red Light willblink twice.4. Press Digit 1 to search for a TV, PressDigit 2 to search for a DVD/VCR orPress Digit 3 to search for an Audiodevice.5. While pointing the remote control atthe Device, press and release theCH + key until the Device turns off.(Note: You may need to press [CH+]numerous times).NOTE: In the search mode, the remotecontrol will send IR codes from itslibrary to the target device.6. Press Device key (TV or AUX) once tolock in the code. The Red Light willblink twice.CHECKING THE CODESIf you have set up the remote control usingthe Searching For Your Code procedure, youmay need to find out which five-digit codeis operating your TV. Perform the followingsteps after setting up your TV to find outwhich five-digit code operates your TV.1. Press and hold TV until the Red Lightflashes at least twice, then release TV.2. Enter in 9 - 9 - 0. The Red Light willblink twice.3. To view the code for the first digit,press 1 once. Wait 3 seconds andcount the number of times the RedLight blinks (e.g., 3 blinks =3) and writedown the number in the left most TVCode box (at end of thissection).NOTE: If a code digit is “0”, the red light willnot blink.4. Repeat step 3 four more times for theremaining digits. Use 2 for the seconddigit, 3 for the third digit, 4 for thefourth digit and 5 for the fifth digit.Finish writing down the code in the TVCode boxes (at end of this section).5. To check AUX code, repeat steps 1through 4 using the AUX key in step 1.6. To check SAT code, repeat steps 1through 4 using the SAT key in step 1.Note: When verifying the SAT Address only digits 1, 2and 3 are required.TV Code:AUX Code:CHANGING VOLUME CONTROLOn the Shaw Direct IRC600 and URC600Remote Controls, Global Volume Lock is setto TV, so you can control TV volume while inthe AUX, or SAT mode.You can perform Individual Volume Unlockon a selected device to set its volume controlfor independent operation.Locking Volume to a Specific Mode.1. Press and hold SAT until the Red Lightsblink at least twice, then release SAT.2. Enter in 9 - 9 - 3 (The Red Light willblink twice after the 3).3. Press and release the Mode Key (TV orAUX) to lock Volume to.Unlocking Volume from a Specific Mode.1. Press and hold mode key to beunlocked (e.g. AUX) until the RedLights blinks at least twice, thenrelease the mode.2. Enter in 9 - 9 - 3 (The Red Light willblink twice after the 3).3. Press and release the Volume DownKey the Red light will flash 4 times.USING THE MASTER POWER KEYThe Shaw Direct IRC600 and URC600Remote Controls have a unique feature thatallows you to sequentially turn up to threeof your home entertainment devices on oroff with a single key press.NOTE: The MASTER POWER (Power) default settingis the SAT mode. If it is not programmed,only the Satellite receiver and TV will turn on oroff. In the AUX or TV mode, pressing the Powerkey will only turn on or off the selected device.PROGRAMMING THE MASTERPOWER KEY1. Soulevez le couvercle du compartimentdes piles et retirez-le.2. Insérez les deux (2) piles AA qui sontfournies selon les marques « + » et « – »à l’intérieur du compartiment des piles.3. Remettez en place le couvercle ducompartiment des piles.4. Effectuez une vérification en appuyantsur la touche d’alimentation.Si les piles sont insérées correctement,le voyant rouge clignotera.NOTA : Lorsque les piles doivent être remplacées, latélécommande cesse de fonctionner. Remplacez lespiles par des piles AA neuves.PROGRAMMATION DE LACOMMANDE SATL’adresse de votre télécommande est prérégléepar le fabricant à 000 pour commandertoutes les fonctions de votre récepteurde signaux de satellite Motorola. Toutefois,si vous avez plus d’un récepteur de signauxde satellite, vous voudrez peut-êtreempêcher la télécommande qui se trouvedans une pièce d’affecter le récepteur quise trouve dans une autre pièce. Afin d’éviterce type d’interférence, vous devez assignerchaque télécommande à un récepteur enattribuant une nouvelle adresse à chaquecombinaison. Vous pouvez attribuer uneadresse à l’aide de votre télécommande dela façon suivante :1. Appuyez sur la touche SAT pour sélectionnerle mode SAT de la télécommande.2. Appuyez sur la touche OPTIONS pourafficher l’écran Options sur votre téléviseur.3. Allumez le téléviseur ou l’appareil auxiliaire.NOTA : Veuillez lire entièrement les étapes2 à 4 avant de procéder. Surlignez ouinscrivez les codes et l’appareil que voussouhaitez programmer avant de passer àl’étape 2.2. Appuyez et maintenez appuyée la touchepour sélectionner l’appareil (TV ouAUX) jusqu’à ce que les voyants rougesclignotent au moins deux fois, puis relâchezla touche TV ou AUX.3. Localisez le code de votre appareil dansla liste des codes des fabricants au versode ce guide d’utilisation. Les marquessont inscrites par ordre alphabétiqueet les codes les plus populaires sontinscrits en premier.4. Entrez le premier code à cinq chiffrespour votre téléviseur ou appareil auxiliaire.Si vous le faites correctement, levoyant rouge clignotera deux fois.NOTA : Si vous entrez un code invalide,le voyant rouge ne clignotera paslorsque vous entrerez le dernier chiffreet que vous quitterez le mode de programmation.Répétez les étapes 2 à 4avec un code valide.5. Pointez la télécommande vers le téléviseurou l’appareil auxiliaire et appuyezsur la touche d’alimentation une fois.L’appareil devrait s’éteindre. S’il nerépond pas, répétez les étapes 2 à 4en essayant chacun des codes inscritspour votre marque jusqu’à ce que vousen trouviez un qui fonctionne. Si celane fonctionne toujours pas, essayez defaire une Recherche de votre code.6.
