Page 22 • The echo <strong>of</strong> <strong>Cantley</strong> • October 1998Yvon and irène Belleisle...energy therapistsMarried for 33 years, Irèneis a nurse who worked athome to raise 3 children:Lynne (an epi<strong>de</strong>miologist),Charles (an engineer) andJean (at secondary school).Yvon is an electronicstechnologist, retired since1992 from IBM Canada Ltd.He held posts as atechnologist and a director for29 years in Ottawa,Sherbrooke and Sudbury. Onreturning to the Outaouais in1979, we built a house in<strong>Cantley</strong>. We became involvedin the Parish, preparingcouples for marriage andyoung people forconfirmation. We were part <strong>of</strong>the recreational committee <strong>of</strong>the Domaine Lafortune for 5years. We also worked withmany others for the separation<strong>of</strong> <strong>Cantley</strong> from Gatineau.On retiring in September1992, Yvon returned tostudying full time andcompleted the nurse’s aidprogramme. He then workedpart-time at the ÉlisabethBruyère centre in Ottawa.During the last 5 years, he hasbeen studying naturopathyand has obtained a certificatein reflexology from theCanadian Association <strong>of</strong>reflexology.During this time, Irène tookcourses in massage and Reiki.In April 1996, we finished a2 year programme inpalliative care. Irène workedfor 4 years, helping theterminally ill at the ÉlisabethBruyère centre. She alsohelped the terminally ill athome for two years.In September 1996, weenrolled in a programme onenergy balancing, run by«l’Ère d’Harmonie». Thesecourses are given at L’UQAH,and last 300 hours, followedby 2 years <strong>of</strong> practicals.In July 1997, we sold ourhouse which had become toobig, and built on the rueBouchette, where we alsohave a private clinic.In June 1998, we werecertified as energy balancingtherapists and we <strong>of</strong>ficiallyopened our «Clinique <strong>de</strong>Mé<strong>de</strong>cine Énergétiques(CME) Belle-Isle».. original,isn’t it?..at 56 rue Bouchette.We give treatment as acouple (the client gets two forthe price <strong>of</strong> one!), or one onone, whichever you choose.We approach the personholistically, consi<strong>de</strong>ring himto be a spiritual andpsychological, as well as aphysical being.
