Cette artiste belge d’origine coréenne,
autodidacte ayant fréquenté l’académie des
Beaux-Arts de Watermael-Boisfort à Bruxelles,
réalise des œuvres sur plexiglas, des tableaux
à l’acrylique et à la bombe aérosol qui
bouleversent nos émotions.
Grâce à ses peintures abstraites aux tons vifs,
aux formes généreuses et à la technique du
dripping si chère à Pollock, CiYu s’adresse à notre
humanité, réveille notre rapport au monde, nous
rappelle l’essence de la liberté d’expression.

The self-taught Belgian and Korean
artist studied in Watermael-Boisfort’s
fine arts academy and makes art works
in Plexiglas and paintings in acrylic
and using a spray can to veritably
shock our emotions.
Through her abstract and brightly
coloured paintings
with generous forms
and using Pollock’s
dripping technique,
CiYu speaks to our
humanity, awakens
our relation to the
world and reminds
us the very essence
of the freedom of
speech.
