Being the president of CANOC and finding yourself to be the one who is leading<br />
the first caribbean games. is that a dream of a young child that comes true ? what<br />
does this mean to you ?<br />
To your question, what I will see and consider<br />
a successful game is that the games from the<br />
opening ceremony on the 29th of June to the<br />
closing ceremony on the 3rd of July will be safe.<br />
It will create an enjoyable environment where the<br />
youths and young people and the athletes can<br />
excel and be the best that they can be, and the<br />
best version.<br />
It is also an<br />
opportunity for<br />
the national<br />
federations,<br />
the Guadalupe<br />
Olympic and Sport<br />
Federation, the<br />
local organizing<br />
committee, the<br />
authorities and<br />
Guadeloupe<br />
to show that<br />
we can work<br />
together. They can pull up an event, a multisport<br />
event such as the Caribbean games,<br />
there’s a lot of history and to have a game<br />
that shows the<br />
Caribbean,<br />
shows the<br />
people of<br />
Guadeloupe,<br />
the Youth and<br />
Young People<br />
of Guadeloupe<br />
that all things<br />
are possible if<br />
you believe. It is<br />
good to dream<br />
and have big<br />
dreams and<br />
big aspirations<br />
and inspiration,<br />
and that no<br />
matter how<br />
difficult the challenge is, maybe where there is<br />
a will, there is a way and that Against All Odds<br />
the Caribbean game, the first ever Caribbean<br />
games was staged in Guadeloupe.<br />
Guadeloupe and CANOC and all its<br />
stakeholders and members were able to get it<br />
done. That to<br />
me is what ‘s<br />
going to be a<br />
successful game.<br />
The fact that<br />
against all odds,<br />
the games came<br />
off and that<br />
it will inspire<br />
and motivate<br />
the youth and<br />
young people<br />
of Guadeloupe<br />
and the region<br />
to have big<br />
dreams to push forward and aim for higher<br />
heights.<br />
