The Caribbean games an ambition without limits Thank you once again for following the work we are doing, regardless of where you are in the world and in case you are new to the magazine Karaïbes Sports, we are about elevating awareness of the great we are in! Based on this concept, it would have been crazy not to release this number about the first Caribbean games in Guadeloupe. This is history for the people in Guadeloupe as a host for this event. Without spoiling the content, our magazine cover, Briand Lewis, the president of CANOC will tell you everything in a very inspirational manner. So do not wait too long, and just turn the page. The man...
Alain SOREZE, president of CROS Guadeloupe
elected in 2009 after having been for 10 years
on the steering committee of the Football League
in charge of external relations. Elected to the
CANOC Executive Board in 2018.
Why...
it is a journey, a vocation
accompanied by the will
and the passion to want
to change things. My
duties as president of AS
Juventa or member of the
Football League steering
committee in charge of
external relations, paving
the way for the 2007
Gold Cup adventure
with President Guy Roch,
then our membership of
CONCACAF in 2013
with President Joseph
SENE, the missions
in the Caribbean in a
professional way under
the presidencies of the
Regional Council of
Félix Proto and Lucette
Michaux_Chevry are as
many experiences and
subjects of analysis
which push you to try
to make things happen
where they are caught the decisions.
Alain SOREZE
LOC PRESIDENT
WWW.KARAÏBES-SPORTS.COM | AVRIL 2022
Based on your overall achievement
in your career, how would you rank
this event compared to the others and
why ?
In 2009, I was elected president of CROS
Guadeloupe with integration in our geographical
area as the main objective of our term project.
From November 2009, with the agreement
obtained from CNOSF, we
changed our statutes, which
allowed us to become a
member of CANOC in
2010 and then a member
of Centro Caribe Sports in
2015.
To date for me, I have
three things that mark
this commitment, small
steps towards this
sporting ambition to see
Guadeloupean athletes
in these high-level
international competitions.
First our first participation
in the Central American
and Caribbean Games in
2018 in Barranquilla.
Then the amendment
presented by the deputy
Justine Benin, voted in the
law on sport in February
2022, which makes it
possible to include in the
French sports code the
possibility for overseas leagues to integrate
international sports organizations .
Finally the work, even the fights, carried out since
2020 despite a succession of crises and low
blows, to organize the 1st Caribbean Games
Guadeloupe 2022.
