This was the couplet Mr Edwin Pang Shingkeung
created to celebrate the 8th Sameway
anniversary where we kicked off the community
learning centre and our radio broadcast.
Rejoice@Sameway has done another 10 years since
then.
We have overcome numerous difficulties in the
past 10 years…. we set up the community activity
centre in Forest Hill, we went through the Covid
pandemic, By now we are still serving as salt and
light in the community, and be proud of a life of loving
God loving people. The pandemic over the past
three years has changed everyone’s life. People are
getting disorientated and I just got a query days ago
“Is Sameway still on publish?” If you are seeing this
passage then you are one of our readers, and I must
tell you how amazing God has been blessing us is a
miracle, as over the past three years we have been
expanding our scope of serving the community.
Smartphone and social media platforms have
altered commercial marketing strategy. We condensed
our edition six years ago and cut down to bi-weekly
publishing five years ago, thus saving considerable
expenses. During the very harsh Covid years,
Sameway succeeded as the only Chinese media
obtaining Victorian government Media Stimulus
Grant. We also succeeded in lobbying the Victorian
government with other ethnic minority communities in
the production of multi-language news on Covid via
the radio and the internet till to-date. ‘Rejoice On Air’
covers Cantonese and Mandarin broadcast.
To mark this 18th anniversary of Sameway, from
28/9 onwards we will co-work with Rejoice to produce
two weekly half an hour community TV programs
‘Rejoice Together’ both in Cantonese and in Mandarin
via Channel 31. The aim is to help Chinese community
better integrate with the mainstream society.
Yes we would rejoice in seeing more Christians
serving together as salt and light, and walking on a
difficult but godly path with more Chinese Australians,
in faith and in joy to the benefit of the society by
spreading the Gospel as we love God and love
people. With more serving opportunities to come,
we need more Christians to join in, to offer and to
support. We hope all of our Rejoice@Sameway
missions could bring more blessings to Chinese
Australians and could obtain more support and
acknowledgment from them.
On this 18th anniversary occasion, I can
only thank God again for giving me this serving
opportunity, strength and courage. I thank again
all the supporters who have been by my side over
the years. I thank everyone in the community who
gives us an opportunity as we walk along with you in
settling here as a migrant.

時 還 是 混 沌 初 開 、 懵 懂 一 片 , 哪 來 的 記 憶 ?
朋 友 , 錯 了 ! 第 一 個 擁 抱 你 的 人 是 為 你 接 生 的 醫 生 或 者
助 產 護 士 , 母 親 只 能 排 個 二 手 。 不 過 你 總 能 想 像 得 到 ,
母 親 雖 然 一 臉 疲 憊 , 但 眼 睛 卻 充 滿 了 光 彩 , 她 憐 惜 的 擁
你 入 懷 , 用 愛 和 溫 暖 為 你 消 除 突 然 來 到 這 個 陌 生 世 界 的
惶 恐 和 不 安 。
兒 子 出 生 時 , 我 滿 心 歡 喜 以 為 可 以 排 個 第 三 手 的 擁 抱 ,
結 果 卻 只 能 在 妻 子 懷 中 匆 匆 的 看 一 眼 , 護 士 就 把 他 抱 走
了 去 做 各 種 檢 查 和 記 錄 。 我 親 手 抱 著 兒 子 是 為 他 第 一 次
洗 澡 的 時 候 , 可 能 太 熟 習 於 在 媽 媽 體 內 的 載 浮 載 沉 , 兒
子 對 水 一 點 也 不 驚 怕 , 小 小 的 手 腳 在 水 中 輕 輕 伸 展 , 閉
上 眼 睛 享 受 著 爸 爸 的 愛 的 洗 禮 。
兒 子 夜 裏 睡 得 不 安 , 總 喜 歡 啼 哭 , 妻 子 怕 吵 醒 我 , 只 能
抱 著 他 悄 悄 的 走 出 客 廳 。 早 上 上 班 時 , 我 還 在 生 兒 子 的
氣 ; 下 班 回 來 , 見 到 一 張 胖 嘟 嘟 的 臉 , 像 小 蜜 蜂 , 愛 死
了 , 我 的 小 王 子 !
小 王 子 上 學 了 , 臨 出 門 時 總 給 我 一 個 擁 抱 , 心 情 好 時 還
送 上 一 個 濕 漉 漉 的 吻 。 不 過 還 未 小 學 畢 業 , 他 就 不 再
讓 我 們 擁 抱 了 , 特 別 是 在 同 學 和 外 人 面 前 。 失 落 了 的 擁
抱 , 兒 子 讀 大 學 後 在 重 要 的 日 子 還 是 會 偶 爾 出 現 的 。 雖
然 只 是 禮 貌 性 的 輕 輕 一 抱 , 但 卻 是 我 們 在 情 人 節 和 過 生
日 時 最 深 切 的 期 待 。
小 王 子 長 大 了 , 變 成 了 人 家 的 白 馬 王 子 , 擁 抱 都 留 給 了
公 主 。 不 過 曾 經 抱 著 兒 子 時 那 種 陶 醉 的 感 覺 , 會 永 存 在
爸 爸 的 心 坎 中 。
誼 女 從 乖 巧 聰 慧 的 小 姑 娘 成 了 兩 個 小 孩 的 母 親 後 , 人 更
成 熟 了 。 既 要 工 作 , 又 照 顧 小 孩 , 連 假 日 也 不 能 休 息 。
心 疼 著 她 , 每 次 見 面 我 們 總 會 緊 緊 地 擁 抱 。 是 我 對 女 兒
的 憐 惜 , 是 女 兒 對 父 親 的 關 懷 。 小 外 孫 的 擁 抱 永 遠 是 熱
情 和 興 奮 的 , 外 孫 女 的 是 羞 澀 和 靦 腆 , 外 祖 父 的 擁 抱 是
慈 祥 和 寵 愛 。
我 們 三 姊 弟 自 小 感 情 就 很 好 , 長 大 後 , 各 自 為 口 奔 馳 。
見 面 少 了 , 嫌 隙 反 而 大 了 。 多 年 前 , 與 弟 弟 一 夜 深 談 後 ,
重 拾 血 濃 於 水 的 手 足 之 情 。 臨 別 的 擁 抱 竟 讓 我 們 流 下 兩
行 男 兒 熱 淚 。
同 時 赴 澳 進 修 的 大 學 摯 友 從 各 自 居 住 的 城 市 來 墨 爾 本 見
面 , 在 他 鄉 的 聚 會 倍 感 珍 惜 。 相 見 歡 、 別 離 苦 ! 火 車 站
送 行 時 我 們 三 個 不 舍 地 抱 在 一 起 。 這 一 別 , 又 怎 一 個 愁
字 了 得 。
那 , 情 人 的 擁 抱 呢 ? 不 用 說 , 你 懂 的 。 還 是 說 說 我 的 親
人 吧 。
待 我 如 親 弟 弟 的 表 姐 , 為 了 逃 避 世 人 的 冷 眼 , 寡 居 於 新
加 坡 。 我 去 探 望 她 , 斑 白 的 頭 髮 像 在 訴 說 著 她 一 生 的 坎
坷 滄 桑 。 雖 道 不 盡 的 懷 緬 追 憶 , 但 有 聚 總 有 散 。 出 生 長
大 在 保 守 年 代 的 我 們 , 表 達 感 情 亦 是 含 蓄 內 斂 的 。 表 姐
送 我 到 機 場 , 我 不 再 依 循 握 手 道 別 的 形 式 , 緊 緊 的 抱 住
了 她 。 世 上 最 傷 感 的 , 仍 然 是 離 別 的 擁 抱 。 表 姐 轉 過 身 ,
背 著 我 , 輕 輕 地 拿 出 手 帕 、 慢 慢 地 走 進 人 群 。 背 人 垂 淚 ,
我 想 表 姐 已 經 習 慣 了 。
母 親 是 一 個 缺 乏 安 全 感 的 人 , 我 和 弟 弟 都 會 在 需 要 時 安
慰 和 擁 抱 她 。 遺 憾 的 反 而 是 我 的 父 親 , 一 生 中 , 對 他 只
有 過 唯 一 的 一 次 擁 抱 。 在 《 回 憶 父 親 》 一 文 中 我 寫 道 :
“ 有 一 次 我 們 和 朋 友 到 東 莞 旗 峰 公 園 , 很 多 遊 客 在 廟
宇 內 參 拜 , 爸 爸 正 想 上 香 許 願 , 突 然 有 爆 竹 在 身 旁 燃
爆 起 來 , 是 一 種 本 能 的 反 應 吧 , 我 想 也 沒 想 就 立 刻 從
身 後 抱 著 爸 爸 , 怕 他 受 到 驚 嚇 , 也 為 他 擋 著 煙 火 。 我
第 一 次 主 動 與 父 親 有 這 樣 親 密 的 身 體 接 觸 , 竟 然 是 在
他 八 十 多 歲 的 時 候 。 不 知 道 是 不 是 煙 火 太 濃 烈 了 , 爸
爸 和 我 的 眼 晴 都 濕 潤 起 來 , 在 這 幾 十 年 的 人 生 旅 途
上 , 爸 爸 不 也 是 義 無 反 顧 、 無 懼 困 難 險 阻 地 為 我 和 姐
姐 、 弟 弟 遮 風 擋 雨 , 保 護 著 我 們 成 長 !”
朋 友 們 , 別 再 吝 嗇 你 的 擁 抱 了 , 擁 抱 會 為 你 帶 來 幸 福 *、
甜 蜜 、 寬 容 、 理 解 、 信 任 、 妥 協 、 期 待 和 希 望 。 最 重 要
的 , 是 抹 去 你 的 遺 憾 。

Mazda CX-5 Touring Active
The refreshed Mazda CX-5 SUV retains
its good looks and excellent driveability,
making it one of the better choices out there
in the market.
We drove the Touring Active AWD 2.5-litre
Price from $42,880 plus on-road costs.
From the time I first drove it in 2013
right through to the second generation in
2017, the Mazda CX-5 has been nothing
but impressive. It has a five-star ANCAP
safety rating in 2017. Of course, since then,
there have been a couple more competitors
joining the segment. The SUV's initial
competitors are the Toyota RAV4 and
Hyundai Tucson.
For starters, the Mazda SUV looks
striking and stirring all at once, thanks to the
frontal unique-looking three-dimensional
grille that extends to the redesigned slim
LED headlamps. Depending on the new trim
selections, the grille now comes with vivid
red or bright lime green detailing, making it
instantly recognisable.
Also, small but important detailing such as
front bumpers, wheel arches, and side skirts
come in piano black as factory standard on
our highest Luxury (Sport) trim as compared
to the matte black on other variants.
The cabin is premium, plush and
comfortable. The same sporty yet luxurious
treatment can be witnessed on the
inside, too. This gives you and me a very
peaceful easy feeling. From the 7.0-inch
infotainment system to the multi-functional
steering wheel, everything seems to be well
thought out here, with properly-engineered
switchgear that can easily let casual
observers perceive the Mazda CX-5 to be
one of the SUVs from the premium German
carmakers.
With this refreshed model, you get the
usual Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a
new wireless charging pad, and a hands-free
tailgate, amongst other
things.
The stitching in the
cabin matches the
variant. What’s unusual
and nice, though, is
that on our test car
the stitching on the
benches is in bright
lime green trimmings all
around, including the
surrounding on the aircon
vents - a feature not
commonly associated
with cars in this class.
Space-wise, the CX-5
will not disappoint, too.
Three Asians will fit at the back with no fuss
with either the head or legroom. And should
you need to haul extra baggage around for
the weekly picnics, there is 438-litre boot
space with the 40/20/40 folding rear bench
up. Folding the rear seats frees up 1,342-litre
of space.
The Mazda CX-5 holds its own very well
on the go. More than just looking after the
space segment is the way the CX-5 moves
on the tarmac. Not only does the SUV
deliver athletic handling, but it also manages
to strike a balance between nimbleness and

Warranty and Services
Mazda’s standard warranty covers five
years roadside assistance and unlimited
kilometres.
Intervals are 12 months or 10,000km.
The capped-price servicing for five
services are 3 priced at $350 and 2 at
$380. A total cost over the 5 years is
$1,810.
comfort, which is not something you see in a
lot of cars in its class.
This harmonious balance allows the
CX-5 to isolate tarmac imperfections while
eliminating any sort of vibrations to the
cabin. At the same time, you are never bored
when faced with long, sweeping bends or
tighter curves. The best part of all, all these
are done with absolute finesse, with external
noises all kept well at bay.
Yes, our test car's 2.5-litre petrol engine
is capable of 140kW at 6,000rpm of power
and 252Nm at 4,000rpm of torque, and it
will hence finish the zero to 100km/h sprint
in 9.7 seconds (claimed), but with the CX-
5, it is more than just about power output.
It handles well as an SUV, has excellent
road manners and it remains composed and
confident.
Our test car is well-equipped: Comes
with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless
charging, auto hold, a six-speaker stereo,
reversing camera, keyless entry, heated
and folding rear vision mirrors, and LED
headlights with auto high beam.
Verdict
With its glitzy design and aerodynamic
profile, the Mazda-5 looks stunning; sleek
front headlamps and wide chrome grille.
The side and rear profiles too look neat
and fuss-free, which makes it a stylish
vehicle in the whole. The Mazda CX-5 is
one of the safest cars in its category.
